  • Recall 74859 [USA]: Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
Ford is recalling 57,199 my 2006-2007 e-150, e-250, e-350, and my 2007 expedition and lincoln navigator vehicles equipped with 5.4l engines. The fuel rail cross-over hose may contain weak areas. As a result, the hose may crack, which could cause a fuel odor and/or fuel leak.
dealers will replace the fuel rail assembly. The recall began on march 3, 2008. Owners may contact ford at 1-800-392-3673.
ford recall no. 08s02.Customers may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.Safercar.Gov.

  • Recall 75235 [USA]: In the event of a side impact crash, the interior door handle may cause the door latch to open increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
Ford is recalling 123,632 my 2007-2008 expedition and lincoln navigator vehicles. The door handle housing embossment retaining the bottom of the interior door handle spring on all side doors may fracture during normal customer usage. This can result in insufficient spring force to return the handle to the fully closed position. The handle may be loose causing a rattle or noise and the handle may not return to the fully closed position. This condition may also provide a delayed resistance when actuating the handle prior to opening the door.
dealers will replace the interior handle spring on all side doors. The recall began on march 5, 2008. Owners may contact ford at 1-800-392-3673.

  • Recall 2008039 [Canada]: Fuel supply
On certain vehicles equipped with a 5.4l engine, the fuel rail cross-over hose may have intermittent, localized carbon material clumps in the hose wall, which could weaken the hose. Over time a fuel leak may develop. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the fuel rail assembly.

  • Recall 2008040 [Canada]: Other
On certain vehicles, the door handle housing embossment retaining the bottom of the interior door handle spring on all side doors may fracture during normal usage, resulting in insufficient spring force to return the handle to the fully closed position. Under certain conditions, this may cause the door latch to open during a side impact crash, which could result in increased risk of fatality or injury to an adjacent occupant. Correction: dealers will replace the interior side door handle springs with updated versions.

Takata recall. At a slow speed, with the foot on the brake, vehicle accelerates. Speed is generally under 10 mph and has happened during turning...Either left or right. Specifically: it happened once turning left into a parking spot; it happened making a slow right hand turn on a street; it happened again during a left hand turn into a parking garage. We took it to a shop and the mechanic drove it. It happened to him as well, but i don't have the specifics for the one incident, but he also experienced the brakes not engaging normally to the point where he had to push extremely hard on the brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle is still with the mechanic. I'm not sure if he's finding the exact cause of the problem. The master cylinder has been replace so far, but 3 of the 5 or 6 incidents occurred afterwards. We did contact the local lincoln dealership service department and they told us they have never heard of a similar incident. We just purchased the vehicle second hand and have only owned it for 2 weeks. It started the day after purchase. It's dangerous and we don't know where to turn since we bought the vehicle "as is". Will follow up with the mechanic tomorrow, 05/13/2019.

On friday, august 29, 2014 at 1200 hours, i parked my vehicle in a mcdonald's parking lot. I backed into a space (the driveway was slanted down to the middle of the parking lot), moved the gear shifter to park, got out of the vehicle. I walked in front of the vehicle, stopped to watch traffic for a clearing to cross the parking lot, and the vehicle bumped me from behind. It was slowly moving towards the center of the parking lot. I jumped back in the vehicle and applied the brake to stop its forward motion. I checked the gear shifter which indicated that it was in park. But, i was able to move the gear shifter out of park, place it in reverse and back the vehicle in the parking space, and again placed the gear shifter in park. Again the vehicle started drifting forward. I tried several more times to place the gear shifter in park. Finally, it seemed to hold. I went in to eat my lunch and returned to my vehicle. The gear shifter would not come out of park. After several tries, it finally did. I drove the vehicle straight home. I placed the gear shifter in park numerous times before it would hold and the vehicle stopped moving. Each time the gear shifter indicated that it was in park. I applied the emergency brake and contacted the ford dealership, alan jay ford, 3201 us hwy 27 sebring, fl 33870, 888-448-1737, and spoke to [xxx] in the service department. Since it was the labor day weekend, the first available appointment is next tuesday, september 2, 2014 at 0800 hours. I hope to be able to get the gear shifter out of park and into drive tuesday morning for this appointment. This is a safety hazard. The gear shifter shows itself in the park position but is intermittently not holding. The vehicle moves on its own as it did in the mcdonald's parking lot, bumping up against my back. Fortunately, it was slow moving this time. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.S.C. 552(b)(6). *tr

My 2007 lincoln navigator ultimate 4x4 engine stopped running suddenly like it ran out of gas. There was a half a tank of gas in the vehicle. The vehicle would crank and crank but would not start. I troubleshooted the issue to a failed fuel pump. When i pulled the fuel pump out of the fuel tank i noticed that the wiring going to the negative side of the pump was melted. This is extremely dangerous that the pump was submerged in gasoline but it got hot enough to melt the plastic on the pump and wiring. There should be a recall for this issue. *js

Make: lincoln model: navigator year: 2007 issue: complete brakes failure description:\ on several occasions, the brakes have completely failed. We have observed that generally this failures occurs when the vehicle is going downhill at about 30 - 45 mph speed. The problem suddenly appears with no prior indication of anything malfunctioning, lasts for several seconds and then disappears. Problem description: at speeds mentioned above, the antiskid light comes on with whirring / grinding noises and the brakes do not respond when the brake pedal is pushed. The conditions remains for several seconds, usually about 5 - 10 seconds periods when the brakes do not work at all. Afterwards, the brakes start to work normally. The dealership has not been able to reproduce this condition and diagnose any issues, although this very problem has been reported and discussed by other owners in various forums on the internet. Not being able to stop the car will result in an accident causing serious injuries and death. The dealership replaced the master cylinder and the brake booster. However, other lincoln navigator owners have reported the issue to be related to the speed sensors. Replacement of master cylinder and the brake booster has not fixed the issue. *tr

Purchased vehicle as a cpo on 9/27/08. Vehicle was left at dealership to replace navigation system failure. Took physical delivery and drove home on 10/4/2008. Low tire pressure warning light came on after 15 miles leaving dealership on way home(none of the tires were low on pressure). Returned vehicle to dealer to have system checked and light reset. On 10/29 mileage on vehicle was 19,758. Vehicle was being driven by my wife on a flat city street in laguna hills ca approximately 10 am approx 40 mph and the day was clear and warm. She applied the brake pedal to slow down and the brake pedal was hard and would not depress and the vehicle would not slow down and a grinding noise came from the front wheels and the front end was shaking the anti-skid light came on (while she continued to press down on the brake pedal) and the brakes did not engage until the vehicle traveled approx 100 feet. The vehicle slowed and she pulled into a parking lot at a slow speed and it happened again. Towed to closest dealer. That dealer found no problem, and no codes showed up. Took it to dealer that sold the vehicle to us. They can't replicate the problem, but are still researching. *tr

Was driving straight on a level paved street in town at about 30-35 mph, clear day, 70-75 degrees when the rsc dash light came on, and a loud grinding sound came from the transmission area, the transmission geared down by itself, the engine lost power, and i had no brakes. This lasted about 5 seconds or so. Over the next 3/4 mile, the rsc dash indicator light would come on briefly and when it did, i had no braking ability. This happened about 3 times within 3/4 mile. The car was in dealership for 20 days, and the only thing they did was to put some electrical tape between the dash and defrost vent to prevent ambient light from coming onto the steering column. Since the car was bought (new) the brakes have "acted up" twice, (before this event) either the pedel goes to the floor and it does not brake, or the pedal is very hard, and can't be pushed down to brake. When you let up and push it again, it operates ok. *tr

On 07/26/07, while driving our brand-new navigator, (purchased new on 07/06/07) all dash lights flickered and brake pedal would not engage. A cracking noise coming from the brake pedal sounded, and the light showing a car with squiggly lines flashed. After several attempts to engage the brakes, we were finally able to brake, but for a while we were not sure we were going to be able to do so. Took the car to the dealer, they said they tried to duplicate the problem, but they couldn't. The same situation happened again on 08/22/07, in september, on 10/31/07, 11/27/07, 1/22/08 and again in march 2008. The dealer was never able to duplicate the problem, but the brakes keep on malfunctioning. To make matters worse, the code used in the repair forms, states "customer complaint" and "multicheck inspection", but does not describe the brakes problem, therefore it shows as if there had never been a brake problem. I contacted ford, ask them to buy back the vehicle, and a representative who is not a mechanic told me that a fuse was being activated for excess light, but it had been fixed. That was before the malfunction of march 2008, so it must not have been it. It also surprises me that the mechanics working on the vehicle can't tell me what is wrong with it, or how to fix it, but somebody who is not a mechanic and has not even seen my vehicle can tell me how it was fixed. On top of that, since i contacted ford directly, the manager of the dealer got upset because we did so. *tr
