ACB RADAR DISABLING - ACCESSORY KIT 23187585
Prevost vehicles
DESCRIPTION
On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, it is possible to disable the ACB radar following the instructions
provided below.

PROCEDURE
DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine and set the ignition key to the ON position.
PART 1: GENERATE ESP PROGRAM
You need to make an appointment in a Prevost Service Center or contact your Prevost Service
representative to have this part completed as it requires ESP (Electronic Stability Program)
software.
1. Connect Nexiq USB link (or equivalent) interface cable to the DDR connector.
2. Open ESP and enter the vehicle unit number (short VIN). Click SEARCH to access the vehicle

3. Click on the VEHICLE PARAMETER tab to access the vehicle options and locate the ACB radar ID
(ACBEN1).
4. Click on new value to open the parameter value box and change the parameter to “0”. Click SELECT
to validate the change.
5. Do not start the program generation. Click NO on the ESP Message box.

6. Go to the TRANSFER THE PARAMETERS tab and select the correct interface equipment used.
Make sure the selected option is equal to the equipment connected to the vehicle or the program
generation will not proceed (in this example, the Nexiq USB-Link is used). Click OK to validate.
7. Click START TRANSFER to modify the parameters.

PART 2: GENERATE A VPG PROGRAM
You need to make an appointment in a Prevost Service Center or contact your Prevost Service
representative to have this part completed as it requires VPG (Vehicle Program Generator)
software.
8. Connect VPG interface cable to the DB9 connector.
9. Change ACBCWS parameter value. Initial value is YES; change this value for NO using the dropdown list, then click on SELECT.
10. Select the PROGRAM GENERATION tab and follow instructions according to the usual procedure.
11. Select the TRANSFER TO THE VEHICLE tab and follow instructions according to the usual
procedure.

PART 3: RUN ACCESSORY KIT
1. In Premium TechTool, select PROGRAM tab. In PROGRAM tab, select operation: 1700-22-03-06
Accessory Kit, then click START.
2. Enter the accessory kit number 23187585.

3. Click on PROGRAM button below and then follow the instructions. The programming process will
start.
PART 4 – PROGRAM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (MID140) – FOR NON OBD VEHICLES*
* PRIOR TO VEHICLE D-2364 (H-SERIES) AND E-5459 (X-SERIES)
1. In Premium TechTool, select PROGRAM tab. In PROGRAM tab, select operation: 1700-08-03-39
Program Electronic Control Unit then click START.
2. Select the proper electronic control unit which is INFORMATION DISPLAY (MID 140).
3. Select UPDATE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT WITH LATEST SOFTWARE.

4. Click on PROGRAM button and then follow the instructions.
5. If the software present is not up to date, the following message will appear. In this case, select YES.
6. Click CONTINUE and follow the instructions.

7. In Premium TechTool, select PROGRAM tab. In PROGRAM tab, select operation 1700-08-03-39
Program Electronic Control Unit then click START.
8. Select the proper electronic control unit which is VEHICLE ECU (MID144).
9. Select UPDATE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT WITH LATEST SOFTWARE.
10. Click on PROGRAM button and then follow the instructions.

11. If the software present is not up to date, the following message will appear. In this case, select YES.
12. Click CONTINUE and follow the instructions.
PART 6: RADAR REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the radar from under the front bumper.
2. Remove the radar from the vehicle.

3. Install a dummy connector on the harness side using a 562581 Deutsch connector and six 561996
sealing plugs.

Discard waste according to applicable environmental regulations (Municipal/State[Prov.]/ Federal)
