Issue: Some 2018 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 24-Feb-2018, 2017-2018 F-Super Duty built on or
before 26-Feb-2018 and Transit vehicles built on or before 26-Feb-2018 and 2015-2018 F-150 vehicles built on or
before 3-Mar-2018 may exhibit a trailer connected and/or disconnected message in the IPC without a trailer
connected.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Service Procedure
1. Does the vehicle exhibit a trailer connected and/or disconnected message without a trailer connected?
(1). Yes - proceed to Step 2.
(2). No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-10.

2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the trailer tow connecter.
(1). For Expedition and Navigator equipped with a trailer hitch cover, remove the trailer hitch cover.
3. Disengage the retainers and remove the trailer tow connector.
4. Install a new trailer tow connector.
5. To reassemble, reverse the removal procedure.
