Bulletin No.: PI1391 Date: Jan-2015 Subject: Diagnostic Tip for Coolant Leak at Oil Cooler Inlet Pipe O-Ring After Service Engine Replacement Models: 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2003-2010 Chevrolet Kodiak 2006-2010 Chevrolet Express 2001-2010 GMC Sierra 2003-2010 GMC TopKick 2006-2010 GMC Savana Equipped with Duramax Diesel Engine (RPOs LB7, LLY, LBZ or LMM) Condition/Concern Technicians may find a coolant leak coming from the oil cooler inlet pipe after a service engine replacement. Some Duramax® service engines may have been assembled with a cut oil cooler inlet pipe O-ring. Recommendation/Instructions Inspect the oil cooler inlet pipe and replace the O-ring if any leaks are found. The following engine serial numbers are affected. The serial number can be found on the bottom right side of the block. Refer to the picture below.
