CAUTION
For the rear fenders, one component has to be welded on the vehicle. Follow the multiplex modules
disconnection procedure prior to welding. The procedure is described into the maintenance manual
associated with the vehicle.
CAUTION
It is important to never make aluminum components in contact with stainless steel components.
Contact between these two materials may result into galvanic corrosion. Kits include rubber strips to be
installed between these materials.
Order the kit according to the fender position on the vehicle.

PROCEDURE FOR FRONT DRIVER SIDE FENDER
DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop the engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the
ignition switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button.
NOTE
Material can be obtained through regular channels.

1. Dismount directional signal light (top light).
2. Keep the light and screws (2) in a safe place.

7. Locate the adjustment washers (3) behind the
fender. Remove the mounting nuts, the
Belleville washers and flat washers.
8. Discard the fastener.

9. On the upper left corner of the fender, remove
the rivet with a drill bit #11.

10. Move the light connectors behind the fender.
11. Slide down the fender and discard it.

12. With a drill bit #11, remove rivets on all
existing guide supports (4).
13. Discard all guide supports.
14. Repair the existing structure if necessary.
15. Clean the mounting surface and install new
guide supports PN #470880 (4) with new Pop
rivet PN #504793.

18. Install new fender adjustment washer (3).
19. Screw it until it blocks.

20. Install four new rubber nuts (item A, Figure
12).
21. Install new grommet PN 504529 (item B,
Figure 12).
22. Run both light connectors through the fender.
Connector marked with a ‘’T’’ runs through
the top hole and connector marked with a ‘’B’’
runs through the bottom hole.

23. Install the new fender on the vehicle. Slide up
and make sure all four guides are inserted
into the top guide supports.

24. Install the new flat washers, new Belleville
washers and new nuts with the adjustment
washers (3 locations). Do not tighten.

25. Insert a Philip screwdriver to position the
fender with the structure hole. Keep it in
place.

26. Install rubber strip PN 280421 on the pole
adjacent to the front service compartment.
27. Position vertically the strip with its lower face
flush with the lower face of the horizontal
bottom tubing.
28. For the longitudinal position, mate the middle
lip of the strip with the side face of the fender
(see Figure 17 that shows the bottom view).

29. Install rubber strip PN 280419 on the pole
adjacent to the first baggage compartment.
30. Position vertically the strip with its lower face
flush with the lower edge of the vertical
tubing.
31. For the longitudinal position, mate the middle
lip of the strip with the side face of the fender
(see Figure 19 that shows the bottom view).

32. Use adjustment washers (3) to make the
fender surface as much as possible flush with
the front service compartment door surface
and the baggage compartment door surface.
33. Tighten the nuts (3).

34. Install rivet PN 504793 (item A, Figure 21).
35. Split grommets PN 478900 (2) with scissors
and install it on the fender as shown in Figure
21 (items B).

allow disconnection of the entrance door
opening switch connector.
50. Disconnect the entrance door opening switch
connector.

53. Clean the rubber bumper support mounting
faces.

existing guide supports (4).

56. Repair the existing structure if necessary.
57. Clean the mounting surface and install new
guide supports PN #470880 (4) with new Pop
rivet PN #504793.

the special support.

71. Cut the strip to fit at the bottom of the pole.

75. Install the new fender on the vehicle. Slide up
and make sure all four guides are inserted
into the guide supports.

76. Install the new flat washers, new Belleville
washers and new nuts with the adjustment
washers (3 locations). Do not tighten.

77. Install rubber strip PN 280419 on the pole
adjacent to the first baggage compartment.
78. Position vertically the strip with its lower face
flush with the lower edge of the vertical
tubing.
79. For the longitudinal position, mate the middle
lip of the strip with the side face of the fender
(see Figure 50 that shows the bottom view).

80. Use adjustment washers (3) to make the
fender surface as much as possible flush with
the entrance door surface and the baggage
compartment door surface.

82. Split a grommet PN 478900 (2) with scissors
and install it on the fender as shown and for
both light wiring.

83. Install finishing moulding on the pole between
the entrance door and the new fender. Install
one screw at the top hole, one screw in the
middle hole and one screw at the bottom
hole.
NOTE
The other holes (2) have to be drilled into the
structure first because the configuration of the
holes is not the same as the old finishing
moulding.

84. Drill 2 holes 1/8’’ diameter through the
existing structure.
85. Tap both holes #6-32.

spring leg behind the fender.

working well and replace it if necessary.

the fender in the middle and then tighten the
screws that support the lock.

compartment. Align the strip with the fender
in place.

LABOR TIME
Time to perform the installation is 2 hours per fender plus 1h15 more for each rear fender for
disconnection of the electrical system before welding.
