The noises occur mainly when the sun roof is closed. Technical Background Mechanical system of sun roof frame not or insufficiently lubricated. Production Solution Vehicles from production date 17.05.2018 should not be affected by this issue, however if the issue is evident after the suggested production date, please carry out the instructions within this TPI Service 1) Remove the front glass panel according to Repair manual Rep.Gr 60 NOTE: Within this procedure there are single use items which must be replaced and not reused. Ensure that new replacements are available prior to starting this procedure. WARNING: Eye protection and gloves MUST be worn for the duration of this procedure • For a better access to the points to be greased move the mechanical system (slightly) rearwards • Apply grease spray G 060 567 A2 to the points shown within the onward instructions 2) The above illustration shows the left mechanical system. The upper left arrow points to the driving direction. The lower arrow points to the first mounting point of the glass panel. • There is a lug under the first mounting point (see arrow). This should be sprayed once or twice. • The above illustration shows the right mechanical system from the inside. Here is the groove (see arrow) which also has to be sprayed once or twice. • The above illustration shows the left mechanical system which also has to be lubricated in the outer rear area (see arrow). • The above illustration shows the point after the lubrication. • The above illustration shows the left front mechanical system. Here the point to be lubricated which can be reached with the nozzle via the first hole in the lever. • This point also has to be sprayed once or twice. Note: Perform the work on both sides. 3) Then refit the glass panel according to the Repair manual.
