PURPOSE
A customer may report that the second row right side seat belt buckle cover has come off, and in
some instances, prevent the second row right side seat belt tongue from latching into the buckle
when the internal buckle components have fallen off.
This may be caused by repeatedly folding the second row right side seat back while the center seat
belt buckle is positioned on top of the right side seat belt buckle.
Second Row Right & Center Seat Belt Buckles
The second row center seat belt buckle length has been shortened by 14 mm to prevent the center
seat belt buckle from covering the right side seat belt buckle.
This TSB instructs dealers to replace the second row right side seat belt buckle with a new part and
install the countermeasure second row center seat belt buckle.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2014 - 2019 Outlander built before the following VINs and dates:
D Okazaki production: JA4AZ3A31KZ041007 (01/31/2019)
D PMC production: JA4AZ3A34KJ001647 (04/01/2019)
NOTE: To identify production plant, see 7th digit from end of VIN: Z = Okazaki, J = PMC

REPAIR PROCEDURE

If a customer reports that the second row right seat belt buckle cover has come off, or has any
difficulty latching either buckle, replace the parts. (Refer to the Parts Information section in this
TSB for the correct part numbers.)
