Complaint:
Intermittently, the mileage readings in the event memory of the instrument cluster may not exactly match the actual
mileage that the instrument cluster message appeared to the customer. Stored DTCs may also be affected. The complaint becomes more apparent if long distances are traveled without an ignition cycle.
NOTE: The vehicle's odometer is not affected. Event memory mileage discrepancy does not exceed 10 miles under
any circumstances.
Cause:
Storage logic of the mileage readings in the event memory of the instrument cluster.
Remedy:
There is no remedy for this complaint.
NOTE: Any discrepancies in the mileage readings in the event memory should be taken into account when analyzing
customer complaints and interpreting DTCs. There is no direct functional relevance for the customer.
