Page 1 of 3 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN Door(s) Noisy When Opening And Closing - Door Check Arm Cleaning And Neutralization 20-2235 15 July 2020 Model: Ford 2015-2020 F-150 2017-2020 F-Super Duty Issue: Some 2015-2020 F-150, 2017-2020 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit one or more noisy doors when opening and closing. This may be due to dirt and debris on the door check arm(s). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to clean and neutralize the affected door check arms. Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all the following criteria: • One of the following vehicles: - 2015-2020 F-150 - 2017-2020 F-Super Duty • All door configurations • One or more noisy doors when opening and closing, isolated to the door check arm(s) Warranty Status: Eligible under provisions of New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW)/Service Part Warranty (SPW)/Special Service Part (SSP)/Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage. Limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SSP/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool. Labor Times Operation No. Description 2015-2020 F-150, 2017-2020 F-Super Duty: Clean And Neutralize The Door Check Arm(s) 1-4 Doors As Required (Do Not Use With Any Other Labor Operations) 202235A Time 0.3 Hrs. Repair/Claim Coding Causal Part: 1623552 Condition Code: 42 Service Procedure 1. Using a dry shop rag, clean any dirt or debris that may be present on the door check arm(s). Loosen the check arm bolt attached to the vehicle's cab and the two nuts attached to the door. (Figures 2-3) This will allow the check arm to move freely from any binding. (2). Once the check arm is neutralized, tighten the check arm bolt attached to the vehicle's cab to 22.5 Nm (17 lb-ft) and the 2 nuts attached to the door to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
