AfterSales Sep 30, 2020 Page 1 of 4 9 Service 9063 ENU 11/15 Symptom-based workshop manual In the event of a customer complaint and if both fault codes are entered, replace the existing control unit for auxiliary alarm system with a new control unit with software version '0820' printed on it, see PIWIS information system under TEQ Tequipment Installation and Conversion Instructions Installation and Conversion Instructions '906400 Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) control unit' or (for the Cayenne) under Workshop Manual '906425 PCC' in the Workshop Manual. Information Before starting the work required for replacing the PVTS control unit, the replacement procedure must first be started in the ‘Porsche Car Connect – Online Support’ portal. If PCC/PVTS is activated, you will then get the installation code required for commissioning and activating the new control unit. Without the installation code, the PVTS control unit cannot be replaced and subsequent commissioning of the new control unit is not possible for an activated PCC/PVTS. Information The subsequent procedure depends on the respective usage status of PCC/PVTS • If PCC/PVTS has already been used and a valid user contract exists, the new PVTS control unit must be commissioned in order to guarantee continued use. This requires the installation code obtained previously from the 'Porsche Car Connect – Online Support' portal. More information about this can be found in the PIWIS information system under TEQ Tequipment Installation and Conversion Instructions Installation and Conversion Instructions '906400 Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS) control unit' or (for the Cayenne) under Workshop Manual '906425 PCC' in the Workshop Manual. • If the customer has not yet started using PCC/PVTS or if there is no valid user contract and if the customer does not intend to use PCC/PVTS in the future, there is no need to commission the control unit. • If the customer has not yet started using PCC/PVTS or if there is currently no valid user license, but the customer wants to activate or reactivate PCC/PVTS while the control unit is being replaced, proceed in accordance with the standard process for activating PCC/PVTS for the first time or reactivating PCC/PVTS. To do this, an account must be created and a new installation code must be requested via the ‘Porsche Car Connect – Online Support’ portal. The new PCC/PVTS control unit must then be commissioned.
