Service
Inspect Front Upper Link Suspension
Visually inspect the front suspension upper link
rubber bushing (Figure 1) on all four upper links for
damaged bushings. Confirm wear as shown in
Figures 2-5:

1. The rubber is clearly cracked, as in Figure 2.

2. The bushing insert is displaced due to a complete
rip in the bushing, as shown in Figures 3 - 4.
At any stage of deterioration the link is always
captured and will not result in reduced vehicle
stability.

3. The bushing insert has a hairline crack in the
surface, as shown between the green lines in
Figure 5.

acceptable amount of wear.
Note:
A hairline crack in the surface (Figure 5) does not require the bushing to be replaced.
If the rubber is clearly cracked (Figure 2) or the bushing insert is displaced (Figures 3 - 4), replace all four of
the rubber bushings according to Elsa at Repair Manual: Chassis >> Suspension, Wheels, Steering >> Front
Axle >> Suspension Strut and Control Arm.
