SERVICE INFORMATION
If the “fuel level sensor, fuel filter and fuel pump assembly” (fuel pump assembly) needs to
be replaced, due to an in tank fuel level sensor issue or fuel temp sensor DTC, the fuel
level sensor (includes fuel temp sensor) can be ordered separately from the fuel pump
assembly.
Follow the SERVICE PROCEDURE, beginning on the next page, when replacing a fuel
level sensor unit in an APPLIED VEHICLE.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the fuel pump assembly. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for
the service procedure.

Disconnect the harness connector
from the fuel level sensor unit/fuel tank
temperature sensor.

 Hold the harness connector with
harness
your fingers, because there is no
connector
tab for releasing the stopper.
 Pull the connector out, straight
down.

Remove the fuel tank temperature
sensor from the fuel filter and fuel
pump assembly.

To avoid the risk of damage to the fuel
level sensor unit, handle the fuel level
sensor unit carefully.
4.
Remove the fuel level sensor unit from
the fuel filter and fuel pump assembly
using a suitable tool.

Do not disassemble the fuel filter
and fuel pump assembly.

5.
Slide the new fuel level sensor unit until it aligns with the installation groove, then
insert it until it stops.
 After inserting, apply force in the reverse direction (removal direction) to ensure it
cannot be pulled out.
6.
Connect the fuel level sensor unit/fuel tank temperature sensor harness connector.

7.
Reinstall the fuel pump assembly. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for
the service procedure.
