Spot weld detached Figure 1 ACTION Install a band clamp around the heat shield and over the detached spot weld. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/3 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. WARNING: Wait for the exhaust system to cool before touching exhaust system components. Hot exhaust components can cause severe burns. Figure 2 2. Install a band clamp around the heat shield and over the detached spot weld as shown in Figure 3. Make sure the adjustment screw is over the detached spot weld. Make sure the band clamp is tightened to 4.0-5.5 N•m (0.4-0.56 kg-m, 35-49 in-lb). Cut off excess band (leave approximately 5 mm [1/4 inch] of excess band). Adjustment screw is over the detached spot weld. Excess band is cut off.
