Install a band clamp around the heat shield and over the detached spot weld.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. WARNING: Wait for the exhaust system to cool
before touching exhaust system components. Hot
exhaust components can cause severe burns.

2. Install a band clamp around the heat shield and over the detached spot weld as shown
in Figure 3.
 Make sure the adjustment screw is over the detached spot weld.
 Make sure the band clamp is tightened to 4.0-5.5 N•m (0.4-0.56 kg-m, 35-49 in-lb).
 Cut off excess band (leave approximately 5 mm [1/4 inch] of excess band).
