Measure
1) Referring to the applicable Rep.Gr - Remove the rear brake drums
2) Carry out an inspection of the rear (Electronic Parking Brake EPB) actuators and system
As part of visual inspection - consider dirt and debris in system.
VERY IMPORTANT: The operative should take photographs of any object or debris that is evident or is collected from the
assembly upon first inspection.
3) Using a suitable cleaning agent - Remove any brake dust ensuring all parking brake components are free of dust/debris

Refit the brake drum and rear road wheels as per the applicable Rep.Gr
4) Retest to confirm if the fault is evident
In the event that the issue is not evident (repaired) - No further action is required Or
In the event that the issue is still evident, the operative should conduct the remaining instructions from step 5 to completion
5) Referring to the applicable wiring diagram - Conduct an inspection and check the electrical integrity of the (EPB) connections and wiring to the
relevant/applicable actuator (Right and or Left hand side)
6) Apply the parking brake

Release the parking brake
•
Apply the parking brake

Release the parking brake
7) Clear all DTC’s
•
Retest the vehicle to check/confirm if the issue is still evident
8) In the event that no other issues have been found - Replace the defective actuator - Rep.Gr 46
NOTE: Should any other parking brake system components be found to be at fault

The issue is evident, the operative should attach photographs and details of any issues found to a new or the existing DISS query
