Remedy
1. Park vehicle to be heated up in the sun/heat.
2. Then perform a test drive and check the solder seam on the inside of the B-pillar (with trim removed) and rework, if
necessary (see Page 2).
3. After each operation step, park vehicle to be heated up in the sun/heat and then perform a test drive to check the
effectiveness.
If the noise is still present, continue with the following operation step:
• Punch/Peen the spot welds by applying a large amount of force to them with a hammer and center punch (Pages
3-4).
• Use a flat tip screwdriver to open up the gap between the panels (Pages 4-7).
• Drill spot welds in transition area to C-pillar then rivet them (Pages 8-9, observe note).
• Add acoustic filler foam (A000 989 3573) into bodyshell opening (Page 10).
4. Repair area using smart-repair method, paint it and then restore the corrosion protection in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications.
