Symptom 000101 Diagnostic Concerns
Jaguar Land Rover North America Service Diagnostics
would like to remind all service techs to take advantage of
all diagnostic aids available when investigating Fuel Level
Sensor and Fuel Supply/Pump circuit related complaints
and DTC’s.
Furthermore, an extensive review and enhancement to
the SDD based SPA pinpoint tests for related DTC’s are
now fully completed. These changes have been gradually
introduced over several recent DVD releases. (Starting
with new L359 info on DVD127, all 10MY onward vehicles
are currently enhanced. See the attached PDF file for
complete list of current enhancements.)
Best Practices: Using all resources!
TOPIx:
As a reminder, information about fuel level sensor
and supply circuit diagnosis and testing can be
found in the WSM under section 310 - Fuel System
> 310-01 Fuel Tank and Lines > Diagnosis and
Testing.
Always search for updated/new publications like
this SSM and do not rely on printed copies and/or
your memory alone.
Content
SDD:
Always select the correct symptoms for the
customer complaint and/or observed vehicle
behaviour. This is important since DTC’s must be
classed as a “Related” DTC before the associated
pinpoint test will be offered on the
recommendations list.
Using correct symptoms will also trigger correct
links to related publications displayed on the
recommendations list.
When using Datalogger to review live data, don’t
forget to use the new search feature to quickly
locate all “fuel” related signals within any
supporting control module.
