NOTE: The following Caution is included with every ATX that requires configuration. NOTE: Older vehicles (built before April, 2013) are not affected. They are shipped with a pre-configured TCM. Perform the configuration according to the Work Flow Process shown below and the instructions on MGSS online under “TCM Configuration”. Page 1 of 2 07/05/2022 07:25 AM cciz Replacement Part Configuration Control valve body replacement Necessary Oil pressure switch replacement Unnecessary Automatic transaxle replacement Unnecessary Necessary ON/OFF solenoid replacement Unnecessary Coupler component replacement Unnecessary NOTE: The configuration tables in the affected Workshop Manuals will be revised. REPAIR PROCEDURE Work Flow Process: When TCM configuration data is available from the subject vehicle: ATX with configured TCM ATX with blank TCM Read out software (TCM configuration) using M-MDS Replace ATX Write software (TCM configuration) using --M-MDS Verify repair When TCM configuration data is NOT available from the subject vehicle: ATX with blank TCM Replace ATX ● Error code P163E is stored due to lack of TCM software (P163E: Transmission Control Module Programming Error) ● Using as-built data, obtain TCM software ● Write software (TCM configuration) using M-MDS Verify repair Page 2 of 2 07/05/2022 07:25 AM cciz
