AFFECTED VEHICLES (with Remote Engine Start Kits):
* MZ360360EX is a midyear replacement of the MZ360271EX remote engine start kit.
PURPOSE:
To inform service technicians of possible causes after a customer complains that the engine
will not start while using the remote start system. Prior to the replacement of any
components, please check the Remote Engine Start Kit and Remote FOB as outlined below.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
REMOTE ENGINE START KIT

If the vehicle has been parked for more than two weeks the system will be deactivated.
To reactivate system, turn the ignition switch to ACC and then back to OFF. If the vehicle
is not equipped with F.A.S.T. key, remove the key, wait three seconds or more, and the
system will reactivate (see accessory owner’s manual).
Check the remote engine start’s two fuses (5A) attached to the accessory remote engine
start harness. Replace any blown fuses and recheck system.
Perform hardware troubleshooting diagnostics. Please proceed to the proper install kit
instructions and refer to TSB (referenced below) as necessary.

A customer may have locked the remote function by inadvertently pressing the remote
“F” and “Lock SW (Switch Lock)” buttons at the same time. Check the remote FOB to see
if “SW Lock” is illuminated which indicates it is locked.
o TO UNLOCK REMOTE: Press the remote “F” function and “Unl ock SW” buttons at
the same time until a buzzer sounds. The "SW Lock" is no longer illuminated the
remote function is unlocked.
If the batteries have been replaced, ensure the batteries are properly set into position.
Check to ensure all doors (including hood and rear tailgate) are fully closed and the door
latch switches make contact for electrical connection. If any door latch switch is found
faulty or is unable to make electrical contact connection, it will affect the remote engine
start.
