POWERTRAIN – MISFIRE ON NEW REPLACEMENT OR REMAN UNITS – AJ126

JLR have received reports of replacement new or remanufactured
3.0L AJ126 gasoline engines experiencing misfiring and/or rough
running for the first few minutes after a cold start.
Technicall Description:
– Root cause confirmed by Engineering as build issue which is now
rectified, the affected engines may have improper valve clearances.
Status:
– Check the clearances of all valves and correct any discrepancies.
– Submit an EPQR if valve clearances are not to spec and include the
part number and serial number of the replacement engine.
– If valve clearances have been checked and are within specifications,
perform basic diagnostic procedures as outlined in the TOPIx
workshop manual.
