2005-2013 Vehicles with 2.5L Engine - Fault Code P2279
Diagnostic Tip
September 9, 2013: UPDATED to clarify MVB data by engine
code.
When diagnosing fault code P2279-Leaking Air in Intake System, be sure to check the cam timing first.
Cam timing can be checked using MVB 93/ Field 2 at an idle (for 3 digit engine codes).
On 4 digit engine codes, use MVB 93/ Field 3.
Specifications of the value should be 0º +/- 5º.
If cam timing is OK: Continue with normal diagnoses per GFF.
