Cause: Diagnosis of the issue shows the noise is from the Power Transfer Unit (Transfer case) bearings. Action: This Special Service Message is for information only. An improvement was made to the Power Transfer Unit casting, resulting in improved lubrication of the bearings. The changes were introduced at the following Power transfer Unit (PTU) serial numbers: Freelander 2 / LR2 - serial number 100001 (approximate VIN CH308000) Evoque - serial number 100006 (approximate VIN CH690000 No specific actions are required.
