AUXILIARY COOLANT PUMP AND TURBOCHARGER DIAGNOSIS

• Lack of power, MIL on.
Technical Description:
• When a turbocharger has been diagnosed and requires replacement, complete the
additional diagnostic steps to check that the auxiliary coolant pump is operating as
expected.

Status:
• Disconnect electrical connector from the auxiliary coolant pump and inspect the 3 pins
within the electrical connector and auxiliary coolant
• Check the continuity of the pins 1 and 2 at the connector.
• Release pin 3 from electrical connector and use suitable electrical tape to temporarily
secure pin 3 to the wiring harness.
• With electrical connector reattached, touch and hold the auxiliary coolant pump. A
vibration should be felt as the pump is operating correctly.
