PURPOSE:
With permission from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, on
September 11, 2023, MMNA will be mailing letters to owners, with Florida addresses, of certain
2004-2007 Lancer, 2006-2009 Raider, and 2012-2017 i-MiEV vehicles with open Takata recalls.
These notification letters will be printed on a Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
letterhead and mailed in an envelope with MMNA’s mail processing return address. Please take
the time to familiarize yourself with the attached letter and envelope as some owners may ask
you about their authenticity.
MMNA has ample inventory of Takata recall parts. To minimize any customer inconvenience, be
sure your dealership has an adequate supply of recall parts on hand.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) has received information from Mitsubishi that,
if the recalled airbag in your vehicle deploys, a part inside may explode and spray sharp metal pieces that could
seriously injure or even kill you or someone in your vehicle. This can happen even in a minor crash.

In the United States as of August 2023, there have been hundreds of alleged injuries and 27 confirmed deaths resulting

and any repairs. This notification does not create a duty upon the FLHSMV to provide notice nor any repair requirement regarding this recall, or any other recalls or safetyrelated information. Further communication regarding this notice, including scheduling repairs or verifying recall information, must be directed to Mitsubishi and not to the
FLHSMV.
