• Recall 230155 [USA]: An electrical short can cause the pcv valve heater to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire while driving or, soon after driving when parked.

The heater for the positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve may short circuit.
  this recall supersedes and expands previous nhtsa recalls 17v-683 and 19v-273. Dealers will install an electrical wiring harness with fuse protection for the pcv valve heater in potentially affected vehicles, free of charge. This recall supersedes and expands previous nhtsa recalls 17v-683 and 19v-273. Vehicles previously repaired under the prior recalls will need to come back for the new recall remedy. • Recall 93251 [USA]: This condition could cause the fan motor to become inoperative, or cause the motor circuit board in the assembly to overheat, potentially leading to a fire in the engine compartment.
  This recall involves aftermarket parts sold by valeo. Valeo is recalling certain engine cooling fans, part numbers 696121, 696273, and 696275, used as service replacement parts for model year 2008-2011 bmw 1-series, 2006-2011 bmw 3-series, 2000-2009 bmw 5-series, 2004-2005 bmw 6-series, and 2006-2007 bmw 7-series vehicles. A metal-oxide semiconductor may overheat due to insufficient screwing of the semiconductor on the aluminum heat sink. This primary failure could cause adjacent components on the fan assembly motor circuit board to overheat and short.

  Over time irregularities in the crimp connection in conjunction with relative movements of the tin coated connector at the end of the wiring harness which connects to the tin coated blower regulator pin could lead to frictional corrosion. In combination with very high current flow which would occur which could lead to a temperature increase. As a result the blower regulator wiring could be damaged and could lead to partial contact of individual wire strands. This could result in an irregular current flow further overheating and increase the risk of fire.

• Recall R/2018/132 [UK]: plug in contact cable may malfunction
  The positive battery cable to the front distribution box behind the glove box can become damaged by vibrations and frictional corrosion. This may cause a loss of electrical connection to the distributions box. Symptoms include being unable to gain entry or start the car but the most common are a flickering instrument panel or uneven engine performance. However if the electrical connection is completely lost this will also affect the operation of the vehicles lighting systems; e.G. Sidelights or hazard warning lamps.

  It is possible side and rear windows made out of makrolon (synthetic polycarbon laminate) may become loose due to insufficient adhesion fixing them in place. This will result in a visual and audible warning of the issue to vehicle occupants. If these warnings are ignored it is possible a window could detach from the vehicle.

  Due to a component in the integrated control module not being to specification it is possible power steering assistance may fail. If this happens the eps warning lamp will illuminate and a check control message will appear on the dashboard display. Directional control will be maintained albeit with additional driver input.

• Recall R/2014/068 [UK]: Engine emergency mode may be activated during driving
  The screws retaining the variable camshaft timing (vanos) housing may loosen and under certain circumstances the heads may break off. This can lead to the vanos leaking oil internally and adversely affect the valve timing adjustment. If found to deviating from targeted data the engine emergency mode will be activated. This will be indicated by a distinct change in engine running. The orange engine management warning lamp and a check message; on vehicles with n51/n52 engines this will appear at ignition recycle on n55 engine it will display immediately.

• Recall R/2017/114 [UK]: Plug in contact cable may malfunction
  It is possible that the connection between the b+ cable and the power distribution box can become damaged by wear and heat which is caused by high current flow and high contact resistance. Normally this will result in a non-start situation after parking the vehicle. However it is possible that this could in extreme cases occur whilst the vehicle is in motion. The driver should be made aware of the issue by flickering of the instrument cluster (dash) or an engine mis-fire; but if the driver does not then the engine could cut-out without warning.

• Recall 2020008 [Canada]: Airbag
  Issue: this recall is for certain vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced as a part of an earlier recall campaign. This recall provides a final repair. Long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the driver-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Safety risk: if the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the driver-front airbag inflator. The driver-front airbag module or inflator will be replaced as necessary. Note: the canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

  Issue: on certain 3-series and m3 vehicles, the positive battery cable connection to the fuse box may fail. This could cause a loss of electrical power while driving. As a result the engine could turn off and various electrical systems may not work, including the lights. Safety risk: a sudden loss of engine power and/or loss of vehicle electrical systems could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: bmw will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the positive battery cable connector with an updated version. Note: this is an expansion of recall 2013-048.

• Recall 2017588 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain vehicles, the blower regulator wiring harness crimp connection could start to corrode over time. This in combination with high current flow (ie maximum blower fan speed) could cause the harness to overheat and melt, which could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the blower regulator wiring harness and inspect other components for damage, replacing them as necessary.

• Recall 2017470 [Canada]: Engine
  On certain vehicles equipped with the n52 6-cylinder engine, an electrical short could occur in the pcv valve heater due to manufacturing irregularities. If this occurs, the surrounding plastics could overheat, melt and potentially cause a fire, which could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the pcv valve heater.

• Recall 2016142 [Canada]: Airbag
  On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: dealers will replace the front driver air bag inflator or air bag module, depending on the vehicle model.

• Recall 2013048 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain vehicles, the positive battery cable connection to the fuse box could fail while the vehicle is being driven. This could interrupt the vehicle’s electrical system, resulting in engine stalling, loss of vehicle propulsion and a loss of function of various vehicle systems, such as lights. A loss of vehicle propulsion and electrical vehicle systems, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the positive battery cable connector with an updated version.

• Recall 2008399 [Canada]: Powertrain
  On certain m3 vehicles equipped with the multistage downshifting of the double clutch gearbox, during some cases involving rapid vehicle deceleration, the transmission software may perform a multistage downshift. In this situation the clutch is open for a approximately 200msec. When this occurs, positive gear engagement is interrupted. In conjunction with the engine's over run fuel cut-off at low speed, there is a possibility for the engine to stall. Loss of propulsion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: dealers will re-program the engine electronic control module.

• Recall 2022095 [Canada]: Engine
  Issue: on certain vehicles equipped with an n52 or n52k 6-cylinder engine, a manufacturing problem could cause the pcv valve heater (blow-by heater) to short circuit and overheat. Note: this replaces transport canada recalls 2017-470 and 2019-170. Only vehicles equipped with an n52 or n52k engine require this repair. Safety risk: an overheated engine pcv valve heater could create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective actions: bmw will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. Bmw recommends that you should park your vehicle outdoors, until the recall repairs have been completed.

4 months ago my car stopped suddenly mechanic changed fuel pump , couple weeks after that it happens again i took it back and the mechanic said everything is ok , i went home and today i was driving on the highway when the car suddenly stopped again, i was so scared i just want to know if you going to fix this problem

I took my car to a bmw dealership in cannonsburg, pa. Had no issues whatsoever dropping it off. I had driven 3 hours to get to the dealership for the recall. By the end of the day i received a call telling me my car was over heating and not drivable. How is that my responsibility? When obviously i drove it a long distance to get 3 recalls taken care of. I was told the water pump, i think was not working? It was working when i dropped it off? If it was overheating i could have never been able to drive it. Please help me figure out our to resolve this issue. I need my car and i'm regretting taking it in for a recall now.

Fuel injectors began leaking and have become faulty causing mis-firing. Bmw had a similar recall involving cars with the same model year and engine as my car but has refused to claim it was also involved in the recall.

March 28, 2018 - driving on the freeway, car suddenly comes to a stop and shows message fuel pump with car on rock icon. Car gets towed. Next day mechanic says it ran out of gas, added gas started the car. March 29, 2018 car stalls after 5 miles near the ramp of exit. Get the car towed to another mechanic. Mechanic does not find any problems. April 14th, 2018 - car stops on the freeway. Tow it to mechanic mechanic says that its related to fuel tank sensor. This causes a wrong reading of level of gas in the car. Mechanic changes it and car runs ok for 2 months. June 21, 2018 - car stops on the freeway with the same message "service engine soon" with the car on rock icon. I get towing service to add gas and wait for an hour. Restart the car and it works. The message is gone, the icon is gone. This is the fourth time i was stranded on the freeway.

Recall # 17v676, 17v683 it has been nearly a year and i'm still unable to make repair appointment with bmw dealer for reason of parts unavailable. My air conditioning system couldn't keep car cool enough as heat from the engine is high.

Hello, my 2009 bmw e92 328i is experiencing an issue where the front passenger seat sensor is not functioning properly, which will cause the airbag and seatbelt to not function as intended. There have been recalls on other models for the same issue, but with the same design and parts, i do not understand how my car is not covered. I have read on several online forums that it is a recurring problem in the cars after the effective recall date. I am trying my best to do due diligence and inform the ntsb to review this incident within other bmw models and to hopefully remedy any affected cars. The design of the sensor is very poorly constructed and very expensive to fix, leaving many owners to simply forego making the necessary fixes. In fact, several mechanics informed me that customers typically avoid making the fix due to how expensive it is, running the risk of their passenger not being protected in the event of a collision. My car is experiencing plastic burning odor and smoke from the cooling vents, bmw has opened a recall but they don't have the parts to complete the repairs.

In november 2017 i received two (2) recall notices for my 2009 bmw 328i. I was advised that the blower motor wiring (recall campaign # 17v-676) and pcv valve heater (recall campaign # 17v-676) were defective. I was further notified that no remedy for either defect was available at that time. It is now september 2018. I have contacted bmw and been advised that at this time a remedy remains unavailable. I am considering selling or trading in my vehicle but because this recall has not yet been completed my resale price may be lowered. If two (2) recall repairs have not been performed 10 months after a recall notice has been issued, why bother issuing the recall notice in november 2017 if it is for any other purpose than bureaucratic paper shuffling for bmw to claim to the nhtsa that bmw is going to fix a defect while actually doing nothing to remedy the defect?

Front passenger occupancy seat sensor is defective because it disables passenger airbag creating a safety hazard rendering vehicle inoperable for passenger occupancy. This is a known defect experienced by previous models. Cost of repair is excessive..

Intermittent side light, brake light problem

Takata recall - received safety recall notice via mail 07-03-2017 that necessary parts to complete this recall were available but bmw dealership in birmingham, al stated parts were not available when i called to make a service appointment. The bmw rep told me to call back in a few weeks - parts might be available. I'm confused as to why i would receive this notice if parts were not available.

Engine suddenly shut down while driving. Had to be pushed off the road. Very dangerous.

Spoke to bmw today they are now talking about the parts not coming in until 2017. They have no idea what month so i could still be over a year away from resolving this. I cant even sell the car or trade it in because they cant resale it without correcting the recall. Acura was paying for a loaner car until the recall was corrected i guess bmw feels its owners are more expendable??

Takata recall: my local dealer still says they do not have the parts to service my car. I was notified last winter that my car was unsafe, and i still do not have the airbag fixed. I checked the recall site and it says interim parts are available but the dealer will not install them! When will this be complete. Am i driving a time bomb?

We came home and parked the bmw in the attached garage. Ten minutes later i heard a noise from the garage. I looked into the garage and found the engine compartment of the bmw on fire. I called the fire department who came as quickly as a volunteer department can. By the time the fire was out both cars in the garage and the house had been badly burned.

Takata recall. I live in a high humidity area 5 miles from the gulf of mexico in north west florida. Because of the high humidity i feel i am at high risk of a takata airbag rupture. In march of 2016 i received my initial letter from bmw usa informing me of the potential dangerous takata airbag module in my 2009 bmw 328i. I am requesting immediate replacement of the takata airbag module in my car.

Noticed a very slight tapping when the car was first cranked--but no engine warning lights. After driving it for a few miles, a warning light indicating "charging malfunction" flashed on, and the battery symbol appeared. Because i was the passenger, i googled "bmw 328i charging malfunction" and the first result that came up read "bmw/ january 2013/ recall campaign no. 12v-550: engine belt idler pulley bolt" for mys 2009-2012 bmw x5 xdrive 35s savs. Before i could inform driver, he complained that he had lost power steering. As we were literally yards from our destination, we parked, and returned to the car two hours later. When we recranked the car, same warnings. We decided to drive to local bmw service station. At a stop light a few miles further, many warning lights turned on simultaneously, the windshield wipers turned on, but the panel said it was still drivable and needed service soon. When the light changed, the panel went off, and the car was stopped dead in the middle of a major road. Pushed it to the side of the road to find the bolt broken and the pulley and belt loose. Upon having it towed to bmw repair, we were told the a/c compressor w/clutch, belt tensioner and belt, and oil filter housing gasket needed to be replaced to the tune of about $5090. (car had been given a clean bill of health during last oil change, and the a/c was working well earlier that morning.) wondering why the ebip bolt was recalled in so many other bmw models that year but not in ours. Information contained in their recall notification exactly matched the description of our problem.

The air bag has been recalled for over a year and i am still waiting for my appointment to fix the matter. When the recall first happened i was very pregnant and i called bmw telling them i was concerned. They said that it would be fixed by 9/16 and i am still waiting and my baby will turn 1 on july 1,2017. When will my air bags be fixed? This is a serious and dangerous matter.

Recall on february 5, 2016, bmw has failed to replace the airbag in almost nine months! What good is a possible death recall if the manufacturer does not replace the airbag?

He tenido varios problemas con el carro, corriendo al voltear se me apago dos veces y fue muy peligroso porque los carros que iban atras casi me pegan y claro se molestaron mucho al sacar la vuelta rapido para no golpear mi carro, lo lleve al mecanico y tardo mucho para hallar el problema, la flecha derecha (blinking light) esta quebrada lo hace muy rapido y al checar me dijeron que se tiene que reparar todo incluido el foco de atras, problema con los cables de bateria eso si me lo arreglaron gratis porque tiene recall, pero luego la bateria empezo a fallar y hubo que cambiarla, el volante esta muy duro y al voltear tengo que hacerlo con mucho cuidado para no pegarle al del otro carril, el mecanico no ha podido componer ese problema, a veces se hacelera solo cuando estoy haciendo un alto y no se ni porque lo hace, y tampoco se cuando va a pasar.

While attempting to make a right turn the steering wheel locked and at that time the brakes became unresponsive as well. This resulted in a motor vehicle accident as my car only stopped by hitting another car waiting at the opposite light. It can be compared to sliding on a patch of ice, but there is no option to move the wheel to try and regain control of your car. I am very thankful that i was not on the interstate when this occurred. There is a very serious safety hazard as i have done some research and found that this is a common issue with this particular automobile make.

Coupe of time the vehicle lost power as the result srs & airbag light now stay on.

When crossing an intersection engine lost power and power steering went out. Took car to bmw dealership and they said the fuel pump went out and the pump and tank have to be replaced.

Have a 2009, bmw with 45,000 miles and my axel(both) are in need of replacing due to rust. When i took my vehicle in for repairs i was told by my service advisor that this problem is occurring a lot in 2009 & 2010 vehicles. Maryland is not a flood zone state and the vehicle is too young with low mileage to have this problem. This clearly a factory problem! It no way a vehicle with 45,000 miles is in need of an axel replacing due to "rust".

I turned on my vehicle one day and a message saying "passenger restraint system malfunction. Continue to wear seatbelt. Bring to local bmw dealership." the day before nothing happen as i was driving home from dallas to houston. Occasionally as i drive with someone sitting in the passenger seat, the warning goes away but then the chime goes off and the message reappears. This happen all in june, july, and august. Now even when no one is sitting on the passenger side, the warning comes on and stays on. The seatbelt as well seems to have no restraint and is a safety concern because if i was ever in an accident, the seatbelt won't hold the passenger back.

The car was stored outside in extreme heat during the month of april - 90+ degrees for over 3 weeks. (in florida) air bag sensor and seat belt sensor on passenger side, incorrectly alerting, when someone or no one was in the seat. Now the sensor is on all the time. Also the fan which cools the engine was extremely loud and on every morning when car was started.

On the highway stuck in traffic going about 30-35 mph the car suddenly shuts off. This has happened 6-7 times now. 2 of those times i was taking a slow left hand turn it has died in the middle of the road with oncoming traffic almost hitting me. 2009 bmw 335d. *tr

Upon returning to seattle, wa, since i flew down to berkley, ca to purchase my vehicle, i noticed excessive headlamp shake when going over any bumps on the highway, especially expansion joints. Both left and right headlamps shake equally as bad, and i consider that a safety hazard while driving. It is very distracting and searching many online forums, people have been having many issues with the adaptive headlamp bracket arms being broken. Cpo warranty does not cover headlamps according to bmw, and they are not willing to pay for both replacements. *tr

The right tail lights' turn signal start flickering with the light error signal in the dash, i researched it to find out that they have been several service bulletins out about the rear turn signals getting corrosion. I called the dealer and they stated it was out of warranty and they would not pay to fix it. They stated they knew the service bulletins were out but it was not a recall. After further searching i found out the older models had a recall to fix this issue. If they know they have an issue then why don't they fix it. *tr

2009 bmw 328i, the directional light at times blinks rapidly and a warning of light problem illuminates. The directional blinks fast and light is dull on exterior tail and front lamps. At times works normally and then begins to blink rapidly with a bell warning and electrical warning light sign displays. This problem has known to bmw as the service dealers received a bulletin. Will not cover if out of warranty but seems to be a common issue enumerated by many customers. *tr

None of the airbags deployed in our car accident. We were at a stand still, or moving very slowly and another car hit us in the rear driver side panel near the tire, at high impact. *tr

I have a 2009 bmw328xi, which i bought brand new and paid a lot of money for. I only have 59,000 miles. On august 3, 2013 the car temperature light went on, first yellow and not even two seconds later red. With out warning the car didn't move. So i shut off the engine immediately. Thinking the car is over heating. Instead, after getting it towed found out the water pump and electric thermostat went. I am very unhappy that a 4 and half year old car shouldn't have such problems. I've had many high end cars in the past for 11 years and never had a problem in such a short life of a car. *tr

I think bmw needs to look into a recall for the tail lights on the 3 - series models from 09 and up. The circuit board for the led signal lights malfunctions and some of the led's stop working. When those few stop working, it affects the entire circuit and the rest are very dim/not visible. This also causes the warning indicator on the dash to come up advising that you have a burnt out bulb . I have already had my drivers side replaced a couple of months ago and now the passenger side is having issues. There are also several others reporting the same issue online. There are many units for sale on ebay and in the item description they indicate that a few of the led's aren't working. An led circuit board that is only a few years old should not have these issues and consumers shouldn't have to pay for it. This needs to be investigates since it affects safety since the signal lights/hazardous lights don't function properly. This coincides with the recall that bmw recently did for a similar issue in other models. It's the exact same problem! *js

Car was running very bad both check engine lights came on with one blinking total loss of power. The car was taken to certified bmw dealer who replaced fuel injectors, valve and tuned it up cost 3500 didn't solve the problem they said it's gas to air ratio is not correct the car misfiring on all cylinders the bmw dealer wants to charge me another 1600-2700 dollars to fix it. After picking the car up after the first repaired i was back in 2 days later. Dreyer and reinbold is the dealership. Updated 11/24/2014 *js

2009 bmw 335d, egr cooler cracks open and starts fuming unfiltered diesel exhaust into the environment and into cock pit of car. Highly dangerous gas has severe impact to occupants, car could not be driven as exhaust smell inside of car. Bmw refuse to fix this under below mentioned recall as it does not include the cooler. Tl* the contact owns a 2009 bmw 328i. The contact stated that while applying the brakes, the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the rear of another vehicle. Two passengers suffered neck injuries and the front and side air bags deployed. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to accelerate while the brakes were applied. On thursday, august 18, 2011, my 2009 328i shut down without notice in the middle lane of i-90 at mile marker 80.002 about a mile from ohare airport in chicago. It was unable to restart and i was left to call 911 and spend 10 minutes waiting for dot to tow me off the middle of the highway and to a residential neighborhood to wait another hour for aaa to tow my car to perillo bmw in chicago to assess the issue. June 15th 2011: about 3 hours after bringing my car into the zimbrick bmw service facility to have a set of after-market led lights installed at cost, the service engine soon light appeared illuminated on my dashboard. As i had never seen this light appear on my less than 2 year old car before, i immediately called the person who was head of your service department to discuss how this light could appear for the first time after having my car in hours earlier on a service appointment that should not have touched the engine. A loaner car was promptly driven to my office, to check into the issue and take my car back to the dealership for further inspection, if necessary. The following is the conversation that transpired between the service rep and i, upon his review of my vehicle, using a computer connection to pull data from my cars onboard computer system: sa: when was the last time you filled the car with gas? Me: (checking the odometer, as i reset it with each full tank of gas) about 97 miles ago. Sa: well, the computer is reporting the issue has something to do with your fuel pump, however, i think it might just be that your gas cap may have been unscrewed. Me: i can't say that makes much sense, as i filled it up 97 miles ago and haven't seen an issue until now. Sa; well, let me just turn the indicator light off and let me know if you run into this issue again.

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 bmw 335 diesel. The contact stated that the rearview mirror did not dim according to nhtsa rules and regulations. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they informed him that it was not necessary to have the rearview mirror dim. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. Engine will shut off when clutch is depressed. This situation happens when exiting the highway on hot days with the ac running. It has happened multiple times under the same scenario. *tr

2009 bmw 328i with 17k miles malfunctioned caught fire and exploded. I was injured by the fire getting out. It was a total loss vehicle fire causing personal injury. In addition to the cost of the car there was additional 20k personal property damage. It was not caused by collision or operator error. On 15 nov 2010 approx 7: 30pm after about 8 mins of driving my car started to lose power and the ses light came on. It acted as if it was running out of gas i pulled over off of the shoulder in the grass. The car died and would not start back up i took my flash light and looked under the hood.I did not see anything or notice anything unusual. After a little time the car started back up, the ses light did not come back on. It was dark outside, i was out of state and bmw was closed so i turned back. I drove approx 1 block to a driveway where i stopped and called my husband to say i would not come home until my car could be seen. I began to drive back towards longview, tx. I entered the highway on the other side of the road at about 50 mph my car began losing power. The engine made a load noise and the rpm gauge went up to 7000 rpms i was in traffic and needed to pull over. I put the car in neutral and coasted at approx 40 mph i put the car in 4th gear and it redlined again. I put it back into neutral the clutch went to the floor. Still coasting in traffic i got off the road as soon as i could . It died on top of a bridge with a narrow shoulder. I turned off the car and called roadside assistance, while talking to them i seen flames coming from the drivers front wheel area. Without a second thought i got out of the car i undid my seat belt opened the drivers door and jumped out only my cell in hand. There was a wall of flames taller than me i got burned getting away from the car i ran through the flames into on coming traffic and was almost hit by an 18 wheeler. I was in the middle of the bridge when i heard the 1st explosion and the 2nd as i ran off of the bridge. *tr

2009 bmw 335i, high pressure fuel pump failure. 9500 miles on vehicle. Engine is slow to start. While driving and rpm above 3000, check engine light comes on and engine reduces power significantly. If pump were to fail completely, engine would die, leaving driver without power steering. This could be a major safety problem on highways with dense traffic. After reading internet blogs on vehicle, this is a known defect for bmw n54 engines. Some drivers have had the pump replaced multiple times with same outcome each time. *tr

Paint defect on new car, 2009 bmw , purchased on march 2010. The paint is pealing in 4 places. Car purchased new in march 2010. Manufacturer claims pealing is from a "external source". This is not plausible as pealing is in 4 spots, two different locations. Bmws own warranty vendor for body work indicated that is was "apparently a paint defect ".The bmw regional inspector said no, an external problem, denying what is obviously a manufacturing ( painting )defect.. Bmw, offered, a "good faith" adjustment of 50% of repair cost but if it is a defect it should be covered in full as part of the warranty. Clearly a new cars paint on a bmw should not be peeling in a few months in 4 places and bmw should acknowledge and cover a paint defect. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 bmw 328xi. The contact stated the windshield exhibited several cracks varying in size from a hairline crack to cracks the size of a penny. The dealer advised he could not assist and advised that the failure was due to various road conditions. The contact stated she would continue to find cracks on the windshield on a daily basis. She believed the windshield to be defective. There were no repairs. The failure mileage was 5,500 and the current mileage was 11,500. Updated 09/29/10. *lj

I own bmw 320d 2009, my problem with the car is exactly the opposite, as my car suddenly accelerate by its self, as i go down from say 75 mph and release the brakes, suddenly the car speeds up again. This is happen to me several times and bmw says this was nothing i was assuming this, after complained and complained, finally an iginuer looked at my car and kept it for a day, but only to say nothing is wrong. It keeps happening and happening and bmw does not react, as i mentioned toyota in one of my letters to them, they answered me angry with we not toyota. To this point i keep complaining nd complaining and also use my other car more often. *tr
