When bringing a vehicle equipped with the se5 semi-automatic transmission to a full stop, the clutch may remain engaged stalling the engine. Once the engine is stalled, it could be impossible to re-start and the rear wheel could be blocked.

The connector on the key switch harness may not be locked and the ignition switch harness may be routed too tight. In some situations, the connector may unplug.

  Bombardier recreational is recalling 9,932 my 2008-2010 can-am spyder roadster gs motorcycles. A condition may exist where the operator of an involved vehicle may need to exert a force greater than expected to initiate the turning of the steering handlebar off center in order to correct vehicle drift from a straight line path. This higher than expected steering control input torque may cause a steering angle overshoot and an unexpected deviation of the vehicle from the operator's intended path.

Should the engine stall, it may be impossible to re-start. As well, the rear wheel may be locked, making it difficult to move the vehicle out of the way of other road users. Engine stalling, and the resultant loss of propulsion could, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the rider's reactions, increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Dealers will update the centrifugal clutch assembly.

  On certain vehicles, a situation may occur where the operator is required to exert a force greater than expected to initiate the turning of the steering handlebar of the vehicle in order to correct its trajectory. At this increased level of force, the handlebar may be turned more than intended. If this occurs, an operator may steer the vehicle out of the driving lane or off the roadway, increasing the risk of a crash, resulting in possible serious injury or death to operators or bystanders. Correction: dealers will replace the steering gear box with an updated version.

  On certain can-am spyder rt roadsters, the ignition switch harness may be routed too tight and the connector to the ignition switch may not be locked properly in place. This situation may cause the harness to unplug itself from the ignition switch causing the vehicle to stall without warning. This could result in a crash causing personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if necessary, reroute the ignition switch wiring harness.

Possible dps fume canister concern on recall. Fuel cap seems to allow water inside of the fuel tank? Which then causes the bike to sputter and not want to "breath." when the bike is warming up, it's spitting and sputtering, does not want to idle properly.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 can-am roadster spyder rtsm5. While driving approximately 30 mph, the dynamic power steering and limp home mode warning lights illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 09v162000 (steering). The failure mileage was 14,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 can-am spyder rt. Upon starting up the motorcycle, a failure occured in which the the air bag for the suspension over inflated. The contact stated that the position sensor failed causing the air bag to fill to capacity without warning and other components failed associated with the suspension. The motorcycle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that if the manufacturer approved the modification, there needed to be an installation of a release valve. The manufacturer's technician stated that a release valve was not part of the design for this model and was aware that the sensor failure caused the air compressor to receive more air than necessary which caused additional failures. The motorcycle was taken to the dealer who replaced the spring stopper, new valves, new leveling arms, the shocks, a cap, new springs, a guide spring, urethane cushion, one shock, a flange hex screw, 2 spacers, 1 shock absorber, screw hex flanges, 2 nuts, 2 hex flanges and the position sensor. A technician also test drove the motorcycle after the repairs were completed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The approxmate failure mileage was 15,000.

Power steering unexpectedly goes out, but throws no codes. Tire pressure good, oil/water is normal. Dealer doesn't have a solution. Also, engine puts out some extreme heat on driver's legs...Especially the right side. *tr

The contact stated that the vehicle was included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number: 12v159000 (service brakes, air control: foot controls). The manufacturer was notified and stated that the parts were not available to perform the repairs. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 4,626.

Received a recall notice from bombardier recreational products on my 2010 can-am spyder rt se5 concerning possible brake failure. Have called the dealer twice and they do not have the repair parts required. The dealer stated they have been waiting for at least 4 weeks for parts to make required repairs but have not received any. There is no expected date when the dealer will receive the parts. The recall letter states, "this condition may increase the risk of a crash possibly resulting in injury or death." based on this warning i no longer ride my can-am spyder and the dealer can give me no assistance. What can i do to force bombardier recreational products to honor their recall? *js

Brp sent me a letter to recall my can am spyder rt because brakes could fail. The only dealer for them around here is middletown cycles and since i did not buy vehicle from them they are telling me about 8 weeks maybe servicing it if they get time. I thought when a recall was on a vehicle they are suppose to fix in a timely matter, i don't think maybe in 2 months is a timely manner. Please can you help me or give me advice what i can do. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 can-am spyder rt roadster. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 12v159000 service brakes, air:controls:foot control and contacted his local dealer. The dealer advised that the parts needed for the recall repairs were not readily available and would take three weeks before the parts would become available. The contact stated that the time frame in which the recall could be performed was unsatisfactory. In the meantime, the contact was driving 25 mph when the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the computer was updated but the failure was not corrected. The current and the failure mileages were 6,700.
