• Recall 83121 [USA]: Decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash.
  Sabersport is recalling 16,270 combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies of various part numbers sold for use as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles. These headlamps fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." these lamps do not contain the required amber side reflectors.
  sabersport will notify owners and offer a full refund for the noncompliant combination lamps. The safety recall began on may 11, 2009. Owners may contact sabersport at 1-909-598-7589.

• Recall 12300 [USA]: If a driver continues to drive with a cracked rotor, the cracks could continue around the wheel mounting bolt circle and ultimately result in a wheel separation.
  Vehicle description: light duty pickup trucks and multi-purpose passenger vehicles. One or both front brake rotor/hubs were built with an out-of-specification gray iron that can fail during the life of the vehicle.
  dealers will inspect the rotors for a core date of "287" and, if found, replace the rotor.

• Recall 1998033 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain C1500 and g1 vehicles, either one or both front brake rotor hubs may have out of specification grey iron that could fatigue during the life of the vehicle resulting in stress cracks which could propagate around the wheel mounting bolt circle. This could in turn result in wheel separation and a vehicle crash without prior warning. Correction: rotors will be inspected and replaced if necessary.

I opened the passenger side door of my vehicle and leaned into the van to start my vehicle. The middle of my back was touching the bar above the airbag compartment when the airbag went off directly into by back. My vehicle had not been started yet, nor had it been in an accident, it was parked in my driveway on my property. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 1998 chevrolet express 3500. The contact was driving 65 mph when the air bag deployed erroneously and without warning. The deployment caused the contact to momentarily lose control of the vehicle. The contact was able to bring the vehicle to a stop safely and without further incident. The vehicle was not repaired or inspected for the cause of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 163,000. The vin was not available.

Tl*the contact owns a 1998 chevrolet express 3500. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, the passenger side air bag suddenly deployed although there was no crash. The passenger was injured as a result. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer had not been notified. The failure mileage was 140,000.

Hydraulic brake lines failed while in a parking lot. Driving about 20 mph, applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. Held brake pedal to the floor and the vehicle eventually stopped. Had vehicle towed to a local repair shop and mechanic stated steel brake line to left front wheel had broken due to corrosion. I had all steel brake lines replaced. Several other lines were also badly corroded. *tr

We currently own a 1998 and a 2000 express van and we have the same problem on both of them, the passenger side doors (the 'double doors') are seizing up. We tried to lubricate them but it hasn't helped any. The one door on the 1998 has gotten so bad that we can't even open the left hand side door because it is so hard to shut and it has already started to become out of alignment. I believe this could be a safety hazard as we have 6 children, 3 of which have to sit in the back seat and if there is an emergency we wouldn't be able to get the door open to get them out faster. We have had a dealer drill holes in the hinges to lubricate them, but this seems to be a temporary and eventually ineffective fix to a major problem. *tr

The passenger side door hinge broke completely off without excessive force being applied. The dealership indicated this occurred because the door was not frequently used. In an attempt to repair the hinge, the dealership made the problem worse. *ak the dealership stated the pin seized up due to no lubrication. *jb

Smelled gasoline and saw fuel dripping from side and bottom of van...Van sputtered to stop, lost power steering but was able to coast to closed garage parking lot...Determined plastic fuel line was punctured--they told me part(fuel line) was discontinued!??
