• Recall 107945 [USA]: These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
  Chrysler (fca us llc) expanded the affected population to include 73,712 2005-2009 ram 2500 trucks produced at the st. Louis north assembly plant. • Recall 79903 [USA]: This condition could result in the potential loss of directional stability in the left hand front wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2008-2011 dodge ram 2500/3500 4x4, manufactured from february 14, 2008, through march 28, 2011; model year 2008-2011 dodge ram 3500 cab chassis 4x2, manufactured from february 14, 2008, through march 28, 2011; and model year 2008 dodge ram 1500 mega cab 4x4, manufactured from february 14, 2008, through august 15, 2008, because the left tie rod ball stud may fracture.   Knapheide is recalling 108 my 2006-2008 pro series truck beds equipped with an icc bumper which included a provision for a ball hitch. There may be an insufficient weld attaching the hitch channel to the supporting structure.

• Recall 2016265 [Canada]: Airbag
  On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: dealers will replace the airbag inflator. Note: canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected.

  On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. • Desiccated air bag inflator rupture investigation # EA21002

  From 2000 through 2017, takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("psan") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004l. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 blomquist report at www.Nhtsa.Gov/sites/nhtsa.Gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.Pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in us vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced.In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004l that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All takata inflators produced with propellant 2004l contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated psan inflators.It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- takata (now known as tk global), the independent testing coalition, and exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of takata desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004l (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004l is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l.The office of defects investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated psan frontal inflators manufactured by takata. This investigation will require extensive information on takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field.   Rmd opened this audit query (aq) investigation in order to better understand and evaluate chryslers process(es) for timely and efficient execution of its safety recall campaigns, including its oversight and management of its parts division mopar.Prior to opening this investigation, rmd had raised concerns with the company related to its execution of two safety recalls, 13v-528 and 13v-529, both of which involved safety defects that could cause the involved vehicles, fca’s heavier dodge ram trucks, to lose steering control suddenly and without warning.Specifically, rmd inquired about the availability of parts for recall repairs, by email and phone on january 15, 2014 and february 19, 2014, due to the volume of complaints it was receiving from owners alleging parts scarcity and parts restrictions. Fca steadfastly denied it had placed parts restrictions on its dealers to manage issues of parts scarcity.Fca shared material showing it had uncommitted stock of parts available for its dealers. Nevertheless, consumer complaints of lack of parts continued.Rmd made independent inquiries tosome dealers tobetter understand the conflicting claims between owners alleging lack of ability to repair their defective vehicles due to lack of parts, and fca’s information showing availability of parts.Dealers informed and provided documentation to rmd on february 21, 2014 and february 25, 2014 showing fca had, in fact, put into place parts restrictions and, further, had in some instances canceled dealerships’ back orders for parts.In addition, during the course of its dialogue with dealers, rmd discovered that fca had notified their dealerships on february 27, 2014 to return the recall remedy parts over quality concerns, and had therefore effectively canceled its safety recall program without notification to nhtsa. Rmd issued a request for information (ir) on october 21, 2014.The company failed to respond to a number of the questions rmd asked that required it to produce specifics surrounding the repairs and parts ordering process with the recalls, including a question about whether a dealer order for recall parts could be canceled and under what circumstances.

I purchased headlights from carid for my 2008 dodge ram 3500 in december 2019. The headlights have shadows causing dark spots and a hazard. In the interim, i purchased led bulbs from the same company to rectify the problem, but the led bulbs will go dark periodically. Carid will not exchange the headlights for another brand, nor return my money, so i can purchase safer headlights.

While driving at speeds on highway and interstate, when hitting a bump, hole, or uneven surface (usually exiting a brifge), the front end starts vibrating violently becoming difficult to control and does not stop until the vehicle is stopped. Each time this happens, the battery terminals come off. This has occurred four times since august of 2019, note, the vehicle was not driven in sept, oct, or nov.

Driving in rain and wipers went slow like losing voltage or power then just stopped. I had this happen once before but when they seemed sluggish i just had mechanic replace the motor. The motor is less than 2 years old. I read about wiper motor issues but my vin doesn't seem to be on there. Not sure but hoping it can be added. Will take back to mechanic and see about transverser which are the arms under the cowl that move the wipers per the motor. If still having issue has to be wiper recall due to moisture right? Have replaced alternator already due to low voltage so it can't be that. Replaced batteries when i replace alternator. Everything else electrical working just fine.
