• Recall 116794 [USA]: The leaking oil may soak into the thermal blanket covering the exhaust, which when combined with heat from exhaust, may result in an increased risk of fire.
  All wheel drive equipment mfg., inc. (all wheel) is recalling one model year 2011 ford f-550 truck with a 6.8l gasoline engine manufactured may 14, 2010, to may 28, 2010. The affected vehicle is equipped with a pto assembly pressure switch, part number fr67, used with power take off (pto) assemblies for ford f-550 chassis. The pto switch may leak oil onto the thermal blanket.

  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 f-350/450/550 ambulance package vehicles manufactured february 22, 2010, through october 19, 2012 and equipped with a 6.7l diesel engine. Due to an exhaust sensor problem, the vehicles may experience loss of power followed by an engine stall.

  Issue: this recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by vitro automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: this is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the motor vehicle safety act. Safety risk: glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “dot 287” along with the lettering “vmr” (replacement market) and a date code that is before july 2019.   Certain ambulance or fire package vehicles with 6.7l diesel engines may experience a "stop safety now" warning message and 5 audible chimes if an exhaust gas temperature (egt) sensor fault is detected. Engine torque would be gradually reduced by 70 percent over a period of 45 seconds to a power-reduced level that is maintained. During this time, there would be no effect on steering, braking, lighting, electrical, or restraint systems, allowing the operator to maneuver the vehicle to a safe location. Such an occurrence could also result in an engine shut down and subsequent inability to quickly restart the vehicle. If this condition were to occur when an ambulance or fire engine vehicle was transporting a patient or providing medical assistance, it could delay medical treatment and increase the risk of injury to the patient. Correction: dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module with updated software.

  Certain ambulance package vehicles with 6.7l diesel engines may experience a "stop safety now" warning message and 5 audible chimes while the vehicles gradually loses power, eventually resulting in the engine stalling when speed falls below 5 km/h. If this were to occur while the ambulance is transporting a patient, engine shutdown with no ability to restart could interfere with patient care and increase the risk of injury to the patient. Correction: dealers will replace the exhaust gas temperature (egt) sensor located downstream of the diesel particulate filter (dpf).

  The office of defects investigation (odi) is aware of 1 incident related to the alleged defect. By letter dated january 10, 2014, almared, inc. (doing business as "a-1 alternative fuel systems") has notified odi that it has conducted a safety recall (nhtsa recall no. 14v-040) to address a safety defect in 18 model year 2011-2012 ford f-550 transit buses manufactured between may 2011 and april 2013. These vehicles have been altered by a-1 to contain one or more compressed natural gas (cng) fuel containers. According to a-1, the brackets securing passenger side cng fuel containers to the vehicle chassis may fracture, resulting in a cng fuel container that is unsecured. A-1 has reportedly inspected all 18 affected vehicles and repaired all vehicles equipped with the defective mounting bracket by installing a new bracket of an improved design. The new bracket has added strength as a result of the following design revisions: the cantilevered mounting plate is reinforced with additional support plates, the cantilevered position is mounted higher on the bracket above the cng fuel container center line position (thus reducing the moment arm), and it is constructed of heavier gauge steel plate that is also dimensionally wider, which provides for a greater bonding surface area with the vehicle chassis.Based on the recall action taken by almared, inc., this investigation is closed.

Truck will shake uncontrollably at highway speeds. We have had the front end/drive shaft/new tires/wheels either replaced or gone through. Nothing has improved.

Engine shutting off & will not re-start after. Will restart after it sits for a couple hours. Has been into tuttleclick ford several times for repair of this issue. Still not fixed.

The contact stated the failure caused the engine to fail. The vehicle was towed to a unknown local dealer for a diagnostic testing which took three months. The diagnosis results was contamination from the fuel tank. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however offered no assistance. The contact was able to restart the vehicle which was then towed to a dealer. The technician stated that there was contamination in the fuel line and that the fuel system needed to be replaced. Ford has a tsb on a cylinder #5 glowplug failure that causes engine failure. Coincidentally, their warranty on a 6.7 diesel is to 100,000 miles. Mine failed at 104,000. Ford is not covering it. This is going to cost me $13,000. The item should be a recall. *tr
