• Recall 116095 [USA]: An unbelted driver is at a greater risk of injury in a crash.
  Genera motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2016 chevrolet camaro, malibu, silverado and gmc sierra vehicles. The radio may intermittently fail to provide an audio warning when the key has been left in the ignition and the door is opened or when the driver does not fasten their seat belt. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) number 114, "theft protection", and/or 208, "occupant crash protection."
  gm will notify owners, and dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. The recall began on march 14, 2016. Owners may contact chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or gmc customer service at 1-800-462-8782. Gm's number for this recall is 15808.

• Recall 115244 [USA]: If the sdm housing fractures, water may get into sdm causing it to malfunction and hinder the proper deployment of the air bags in the event of a crash, thereby increasing the risk of occupant injury.
  General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2016 chevrolet silverado and gmc sierra pick up trucks manufactured october 13, 2015, to october 14, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the mounting stud used to secure the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (sdm) may be incorrectly positioned, and as a result, the sdm housing could fracture.
  gm will notify owners, and dealers will have the mounting stud repositioned and the sdm replaced, free of charge. The recall began december 2, 2015. Owners may contact chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or gmc customer service at 1-800-462-8782. Gm's number for this recall is 15794.

  Issue: on certain trucks, the side curtain airbag inflators could be defective. As a result, the driver and/or passenger side curtain airbag inflator(s) could fail. If this happens, the end cap from the inflator or other parts could be propelled into the vehicle and strike a person. Note: this recall replaces transport canada recall no. 2020-576. Safety risk: a metal end cap or other parts that strike a person could create a risk of injury. Corrective action: general motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to replace both side curtain airbags.

• Recall 2019533 [Canada]: Brakes
  Issue: on certain vehicles, there may be an error in the electronic-brake control module software. This could cause the driveline-protection system to activate when a wheel-speed sensor fails. If this happens, the brakes could apply and cause the vehicle to pull to one side. Note: this recall only affects vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive, a 5.3-l engine, and a 3.08 ratio rear axle. The problem can only occur when the vehicle is in four-wheel drive or automatic mode, and travelling at a speed between 66 and 97 km/h (41 and 60 mph). A wheel-speed sensor failure will cause the electronic stability control (esc) and anti-lock braking system (abs) warning lights to turn on, and a "service stabilitrak" message to display. Safety risk: a vehicle that suddenly pulls to one side could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: general motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the electronic-brake control module software. General motors advises that using two-wheel-drive mode can eliminate the risk until the recall repair is completed.

  Issue: this recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by vitro automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: this is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the motor vehicle safety act. Safety risk: glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “dot 287” along with the lettering “vmr” (replacement market) and a date code that is before july 2019.   Issue: on certain trucks equipped with a power sliding rear window, the rear defroster circuit could overheat. This could cause melting, smoke or, in rare instances, a fire. Safety risk: a fire could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealer to replace the covers for the buss bar and contacts for the rear sliding window. If the rear window or sliding glass assembly are damaged due to a problem with the rear defroster, they will also be replaced.

  Certain vehicles may have been built with front upper control arms with a poor quality weld near the control arm’s bushing. If these welds were to fail, it could cause the upper control arm to deform or separate from the bushing, which could affect steering and directional control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.   Certain vehicles may fail to conform to canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss) 114 - theft protection and rollaway protection, and cmvss 208 - occupant protection in frontal impacts. The radio software may intermittently fail to provide an audio warning when a key is left in the ignition and the driver door is opened, or when the driver forgets to put on their seat belt, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. A loss of the seat belt audible warning may increase the likelihood of a front outboard occupant being unbelted, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Similarly, the loss of an audible warning when a key is left in the ignition may increase the risk of vehicle theft. Correction: dealers will reflash the radios with corrected software.

  On certain vehicles, a mounting stud used to secure the airbag sensing and diagnostic module (sdm) to the vehicle may have been incorrectly positioned during the assembly process. This could stress the sdm housing and cause it to fracture which could potentially allow water to enter the sdm and cause it to malfunction. If the sdm does not perform as intended, it could increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a crash. Correction: dealers will send the affected vehicles to a repair facility which will relocate the mounting stud and replace the sdm.

While driving my truck, it has had 3 alerts on dash for "service stabilitrak, power steering use caution and trailer brake." vehicle gauges all drop to zero while operating vehicle and go on and off. The vehicle when this occurs also disengages from gear, vehicle is an automatic. Then engine revs up when it slips out of gear and generally goes back in gear as gauges come back on. The power steering seems to also lose some power. When this occurs, if you depress the gas pedal, you do not get any more power. This is technically the 6th occurrence. It has been back to dealer (griffin gmc of monroe, nc) and computer codes were cleared and nothing reported ie...Technically found that would cause this issue per the dealership as unable to re-produce the cause. I returned the truck today after this 6th occurrence due to my fear of driving the vehicle with my children and getting involved in an accident. I have video of this last occurrence of dashboard gauges and shared them with the dealership. First occurrence pictures are feb 29, 2016 and sunday, march 20, 2016. Vehicle has approximately 2000 miles on odometer. Entire time, vehicle has been running on local road, either at stop or driving below 45mph moving straight ahead. I could not replicate or cause the issue to happen again on purpose, very random.

Vehicle shakes and vibrates at any speeds above 75 mph.
