• Recall 155171 [USA]: A fractured rear toe link will cause a sudden change in vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 lincoln mkt and ford flex and taurus vehicles with the police interceptor or sho performance pack. The rear suspension toe links may fracture due to stress on the rear suspension.
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear suspension toe links, free of charge. Remedy parts are not currently available. Owners were notified about the recall on march 3, 2020. A second notice will be mailed when remedy parts become available, which is currently expected to be the end of september 2020. The recall began october 28, 2020. • Recall 123838 [USA]: A loss of power to the fuel pump will cause the engine to stall or prevent the vehicle from starting, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 ford taurus, ford flex, lincoln mks and lincoln mkt vehicles equipped with 3.5l gtdi ecoboost engines and 2013-2015 ford taurus police interceptor vehicles. A component within the fuel pump electric module (pem) may overheat causing a loss of electrical power to the fuel pump.

  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 lincoln mkt vehicles with a limousine or hearse preparation package, manufactured march 6, 2012, to march 10, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the vacuum pump relay may overheat due to an internal fault or contamination.

• Recall 105474 [USA]: If the halfshaft and linkshaft become disengaged while driving, power will no longer be transmitted to the wheels, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. additionally, if the parking brake is not applied before exiting the vehicle, the vehicle may roll away despite the transmission being placed in 'park', increasing the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 ford edge and lincoln mkx vehicles manufactured september 2, 2010, to november 30, 2013; 2013-2014 ford taurus and lincoln mks vehicles manufactured august 25, 2011, to november 30, 2013; and 2013-2014 ford flex and lincoln mkt vehicles manufactured september 12, 2011, to november 30, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the halfshaft retention circlip may not have been properly installed, and as a result, the halfshaft may move outward and disengage from the linkshaft while driving and without prior warning.
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to make sure that the halfshaft is properly retained. If it is not, dealers will replace the linkshaft and also replace the halfshaft if it shows evidence of spline damage, free of charge. The recall began on august 4, 2014.   On certain vehicles, the fuel pump electric module may be damaged due to high electrical current loads. This could cause the fuel pump to stop operating, which would result in the engine stalling or failing to start. A loss of motive power could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the fuel pump electric module. Note: failure of the fuel pump electric module would cause the malfunction indicator light to illuminate.

  On certain limousine and hearse prep package vehicles, a vacuum pump relay internal fault could result in overheating of the relay. Additionally, the underhood vacuum pump relay connector is not sealed to prevent water and road contamination. Over time, the relay internal fault or connector contamination can increase the potential of a resistive short which could cause the relay to overheat, potentially resulting in an underhood fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will replace the vacuum pump relay with an electro-mechanical relay.

  Certain vehicles built without 3rd row seats fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard 210.1 - user-ready tether anchorages for restraint systems. The tether anchors are located at the base of the second row seat frames, and are covered by a cargo management load floor system. The cargo management load floor system is not marked with pictograms identifying the location of the tether anchors, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. Correction: dealers will replace the cargo management load floor with one that has the required identification symbol.

  On certain vehicles, the right-side halfshaft retention clip may not have been fully engaged, and could allow the halfshaft to separate. If this were to occur while the vehicle is being driven, it could result in a loss of motive power. If this were to occur while the vehicle is parked on an incline without the parking brake applied, it could result in unintended vehicle movement. Both situations could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will inspect halfshafts for full retention and affect repairs as necessary.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 lincoln mkt. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the panoramic sun roof exploded without impact. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was taken to larry h. Miller ford provo (1995 n. University pkwy, provo, ut 84604, (801) 734-9796) but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

On april 30, 2021 as i was driving down the road my steering wheel suddenly starting turning left to right involuntarily causing me to lose control of my car and crash. My vehicle is a total loss and i had just paid heavty deposit and financed a lincoln mkt with a dealership that never disclosed to me that my vehicle i just purchased had a recall on it that had been issued last year. Now i am out of my deposit, no car, criminal charges for causing an accident that i could not control, and a company that was well aware of the recall gets all their money plus some and i'm the one in the wrong. Doesn't seem right does it? Unfortuntly, the claims adjuster that inspected the vehicle to give an estimate failed to check the rear of the vehicle since all damage was in the front and driver side. I informed my insurance rep of the recall and have sent information on the recall along with the crash report of the incident. I do not recall seeing any warning lamps before this incident but i did feel that something was strange with the cars manuvering ability when accelrating or attempting to pass. It would kind of suddenly start a short of shimming of the vehicle that i have never experienced before in other vehicles driven previous to this one. Those signs were first noticed the second day after purchasing the car and two weeks later the incident occured.

19 jan 2021 - front moonroof glass exploded out at 69 miles per hour with no other vehicles around, no debris around, on i65 southbound at approximately 8:00pm and 61 degrees. After glass exploded outward, residual glass then fell on my head (bald), down my back and seat (crouch) area and barely being able to maintain the vehicle.

I called the dealer and they said the parts are not available and will have them at the end of the year. I called them in october and they still saying no parts, yet the i called the parts department and they have the parts available if you wana buy it yourself. After starting the car from a cold (65 degree) condition, the display showed an error message "electric power assist system malfunction" and i observed no power steering. The wheel was nearly impossible to turn. Turning the car off and restarting it rectified the problem but i'm concerned that this problem could occur while i'm driving and cause me to drive off the road due to steering failure. Indeed, after researching the subject online, i found other owners of lincoln mkt's, it's twin ford flex, and some fusion models have reported the same issue and some have even gone off the road, although no injuries resulted. I also learned there was a factory recall for this issue involving mkt's until model year 2013, and other models, but my car is a 2014 and it obviously has the same problem. I'm very concerned about this safety issue and am disappointed that ford motor company did not include model year 2014 in the recall. Please investigate the problem and demand the fmc recalls these models as they should. Thank you.
