When slowing down and trying to down shift after exiting an interstate, i find that the clutch pedal is completely depressed (bottomed out) unexpectedly, resulting in inability to down shift or move gear shift to neutral. This happens intermittently and without warning. This has happened several time over a period of one year. *nm

I drove somewhere, parked the truck and i smelled something burning and saw smoke coming from under the hood. I asked someone if they had a fire extinguisher and they did. I opened the hood and the guy used the fire extinguisher to put the fire out. It started in the wiring harness under the hood. More specifically, there is a resistor and a capacitor coming out of the wiring harness (near the driver-side headlight / distributor coil area) that was on fire. I don't know how many nissan trucks have this defect, but that's for nissan and the government to keep track of. I would also like to know, how many electrical / wiring harness fires have to occur before a recall is in order? *jb

I had a 1993 nissan ex cab p/u standard with a/c and power steering and i had a problem with the injectors staying on with the key off and would fill the engine full of gas. Needless to say it burnt up one day and the place where it burnt said for me to get it out of there before they towed it so it ended up in the scrap yard. *ak

Exaust manifold ) in this vehicle as well as the maxima and pathfinder have been redesigned. However , the problem with earlier year vehicles has not been addressed. I know of 6 other owners that have had this same problem. I was advised by the dealer that the replacement bolts were much stronger. They lasted 10,000 miles. This is a well cared for vehicle in like new condition. Photos of the replacement of the manifold bolts at the dealership are available and can be provided in pdf format for your viewing. A random check of any dealership records will additionally help identify this problem with these models. I was removed from this vehicle in the winter of 99 by a trucker after stopping and sleeping in this vehicle at a rest stop on return from a ski trip. These vehicles should be recalled. Please contact me for any additional information required. *ak
