My mother in law hit a tree going 50 mph hitting the passenger side of her car into tree, airbags did not go off. Driving home and hit another vehicle that was stopped. I was going approx. 40-45 mph. At the time of the accident. I rear ended a older cadillac, in my scion xa, the air bags never went off!!

During a routine drive home, i drove over rail road tracks and the car began to accelerate without my foot on the gas pedal. The car continued to accelerate with both feet on the break. I verified that the floor mat was not stuck on the pedal. I placed the car in neutral and the engine was still pegging. I also tried to depress and release the gas pedal several times and that did not stop the acceleration. In order to keep from crashing, i had to keep my feet firmly on the break. This unintended acceleration was occurring for about a quarter mile. I attempted one final cycle of the gas pedal (depress and release) and that finally stopped the acceleration. *js

On may 28, 2005, while driving my 2004 toyota prius, several warning lights appeared on the dashboard, and my wife and i decided to take it to a dealer (toyota of dallas) immediately. Before we went much distance, the engine stalled and would not re-start. We called the dealer, who we asked to send a wrecker. This was done, and the car was taken to the dealer. The following appears on the dealer's work order: 10835 check engine light and other warning lights 801013 .2 eg4017 .8 1.0 as per tsb ego47-04 reflashed ecu and cleared codes t1-8a - t2-99" the car seems to be in good working order. There was no injury to me, my wife, or anyone else.

My car is a 2004 prius purchased august 2004. On april 18, i had been driving for about 15 minutes, then stopped at a stop sign. Upon resuming driving, a warning light (triangle/exclamation mark) and the hybrid system warning light (exclamation mark over a car) came on. There was no warning sound. Initially, the car still ran, so i continued at low speed (<30mph) and had my passenger look up what to do. As i continued, i realized the power was lessening, so after about a mile, i pulled off the road and parked. At that point, i could not get the car to turn off, or to do much of anything. The manual said not to drive the car if the hybrid system warning light comes on, so i called for a tow. When the tow driver got there, we realized we would have to turn off the car to get it onto the flatbed tow truck, so the driver kept pushing buttons until the car finally turned off. Then, when we turned it on again to put it in neutral, it seemed to behave normally. Nonetheless, i had it towed to the dealership (world toyota, atlanta, ga) where they kept the car for 2 days, but could not find anything wrong, and did no repair. Subsequently, i found a "tod" service bulletin (http://www.Alldata.Com/tsb/toyota/1100764800000_1103011200000_eg047r-04/1.Html ) and brought that to their attention, but they did not seem to think that it fit my circumstance, and again did no repair.

Dt: while driving at 60 mph the car decreased in speed to about 20 mph. Called the dealer, and dealer urged consumer to turn the car off and restart it. Did that, but all indicator lights stayed on. The car drove normal from that point. Took the car back to the dealer, and they repaired this problem. *ak
