On certain volvo 764, 782 and 944 equipped with an 80 litre fuel tank, if the three conditions of high ambient temperatures, overfilling of tank and insufficient torque on the sending unit lock ring existed simultaneously, seepage of fuel could occur from the top of the tank. In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could result. Correction: dealers will inspect for signs of seepage. If no seepage is found, the sending unit lock ring will be retorqued.
