Birdwell, Executive Director Quality Control & Field Service Starter B+ Cable & Stud Maintenance Based on new information provided by Borg Warner, (Delco), we are revising the Starter Maintenance procedure B+ cable maintenance and torque values. FIELD SERVICE BULLETIN You should follow the procedure below at 36,000 miles or once a year: A. Inspect solenoid cap for damage or cracks. B. Verify torque of outer nut at 20-25 ft lbs. C. Re-coating of the stud with Kopr-Shield or any other anti-corrosion substance is optional, but if the B+ cable nut (outer nut) is removed, the inner nut should be held with a backing wrench, or re-torqued to 15-20 ft lbs).
