REAR CENTER SEAT BELT WEBBING GUIDE REPLACEMENT (SA 206)
This bulletin provides the procedure for the replacement of the seat belt webbing guide for the
rear center seat in 2014~2016MY Soul (PS) vehicles, produced from July 21, 2013 through
September 15, 2015, and some 2014~2016MY Soul EV (PS EV) vehicles, produced from
November 26, 2013 through September 03, 2015. Some customers have identified that the
webbing in the subject Soul vehicles may twist in the webbing guide slot and interfere with the
free movement of the belt. To address this concern, Kia is launching a Service Action to replace
the rear center seat belt webbing guide with one that has a narrower slot.
 NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed
during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the
warranty period will require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service> Warranty Coverage>
Warranty Coverage Inquiry> Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service
Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs> Not Completed Recall>
Recall VIN> Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.
This issue number is SA 206.

Service Procedure:
1.
Locate the rear seat center seat belt
guide cover (A), as shown.
2.
A
Remove the center seat belt guide
cover (B) using a trim removal tool, as
shown.
CAUTION
•
Be sure to wear disposable
gloves
throughout
this
procedure to avoid soiling any
interior trim components.
•
Use a non-marring trim removal
tool (such as Snap-on® P/N
PBN5 or equivalent) to avoid
damaging trim pieces.

Carefully pull the seat belt (C) through
the slit in the center seat belt guide
cover, as shown.

 NOTICE
Prior to installing the replacement seat
belt guide cover, make sure to correct
any twists in the seat belt.
4.
Install the replacement seat belt guide
cover by reversing the removal steps.
5.
Verify proper seat belt extension and
retraction.
