Complaint:
Shift quality complaints and/or automatic transmission in limp-home mode in combination with one or more of the
following fault codes: P060600, P072000, P072200, P072300, P072364, P072900, P073000, P073100, P073200,
P073300, P073400, P073500, P076F00.
Cause:
The output speed sensor can wander out of the signal trigger range due to mechanical vibrations. Under certain circumstances this can result in a failure to register the output speed of the automatic transmission until the next ignition
cycle.
Remedy:
The following Xentry Diagnostics add-ons must be installed for the following remedies:
•
Add-on 2889, 2908 and 2938 for DVD 05/2013
•
Add-on 2909 and 2939 for DVD 07/2013
Before carrying out the remedies, please check the corresponding vehicle data card for the necessary CODE (all specified code conditions must be fulfilled simultaneously).
Remedy for vehicles with CODE 804, without CODE 32A, without CODE 35A, without CODE 01A, or model series
231 with CODE 803:
If the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) has no faults other than those listed, update the software of the automatic transmission.
If faults indicating a defective integrated transmission control module (VGS) other than the above exist, install a VGS
repair kit A 000 270 35 00 and then update the software of the automatic transmission.
Remedy for vehicles with CODE 804, with CODE 01A, without CODE 32A, without CODE 35A, or X218 with CODE
803:
If the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) has no faults other than those listed, update the software of the automatic transmission.
If faults indicating a defective integrated transmission control module (VGS) other than the above exist, install a VGS
repair kit A 000 270 34 00 and then update the software of the automatic transmission.

transmission.
Remedy for vehicles with CODE 804, with CODE 32A, with CODE 01A:
Install the fully integrated transmission control repair kit A 000 270 34 00 and update the software of the automatic
transmission.
Supplementary information:
If no fault codes are present, VGS repair should only be performed if requested by the technical market support department. In this case, you will receive information on emergency start of the repair procedure from the technical market support department. Create a PTSS case and attach:
