When disassembling cab components, sudden movements, caused by stresses in the
structure, can occur. Surrounding components can shift or fall down when components are
removed.
N o t e : This repair procedure is designed to be preformed with the cab installed on the
chassis.
N o t e : This procedure begins with the interior removed. For information on how to remove the
interior, see Function Group 85.
1 Secure the vehicle for service by parking it on a flat level surface, applying the parking
brake, chocking the rear wheel, and placing the transmission in neutral.
2 Disconnect all cables from the negative (ground) and positive battery terminals to prevent
personal injury from electrical shock and prevent damage to electrical components.
3 If applicable, remove the transmission shifter panel.
