SITUATION

No sound from the radio, telephone, gong signal and or PDC.
z
Poor radio reception and failure of the telematics systems.
z
Possible Check Control system message:
o Battery discharge when engine off.
o Caution, no acoustic warning signals.
CAUSE
Non BMW approved (third-party supplier) USB cable plugged into the USB port.
CORRECTION
Install new BMW approved USB charging cable.
PROCEDURE
1. Check that a non BMW approved USB cable is plugged into any of the USB ports.
2. Remove the non BMW approved USB cable.

3. Confirm that cause of the errors have been resolved.
4. Inform the customer to use BMW approved USB charging cables only!
• The non BMW approved USB cable or connector is to No longer be used!
Note: Programming or USB hub replacement does NOT provide a remedy!
