1. Remove the barrel from the lock body. The lock is shipped semi-assembled with the octagonal lock
ring not installed. Pull the barrel out to disassemble it from the lock (key must be in).
NOTE
If for some reason, the barrel was inserted in the body with the lock ring installed, proceed as follows to
remove the barrel:
-
Turn the barrel knob so the first barrel locking tab is exposed through the body window as seen on
the first picture.
-
Using a small paper clip or other suitable tool, press on the locking tab and maintain pressure (key
must be out).
-
With pressure still applied to the locking tab, insert the key. The key will hold all locking tabs in the
retracted (low) position.
-
Pull the barrel out of the lock body.
2. Remove the door from the vehicle.

with a small 5mm long X 1mm deep notch (0.200 x 0.040 in), adjust as required.
6. Install the new lock on the door.
-
Position the lock body in the opening and secure the backing plate to the door.
-
Using a length of 1in X 0.5in (25 x 12mm) flat bar, fabricate a tool to secure the lock body to
the door with the octagonal lock ring (insert flat bar in octagon to screw in the ring). Make
sure that the small tab in the lock body is inserted in the exterior opening notch.
