NOTE: This bulletin applies to MP vehicles built on or before January 28, 2018 (MDH
0128XX), equipped with 2.4L I4 Multiair Engine (Sales Code ED6) or 2.4L I4 Multiair
Engine W/ ESS (Sales Code EDD) or 2.4L I4 PZEV M-Air Engine W/ ESS (Sales Code
EDE).

NOTE: This bulletin applies to VM vehicles built on or before February 27, 2018 (MDH
0227XX), equipped with 2.4L I4 Multiair Engine (Sales Code ED6).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further
investigation the technician may find that one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes
(DTCs) have been set:
• P0300 - Multiple Cylinder Misfire
• P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire.
• P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire.
• P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire.
• P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire.
Some customers may also experience the following condition:
• Rough running engine.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or
symptom conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair
order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above or if the technician finds the DTC,
perform the Repair Procedure.

Molykote G-5008 Lubricant (Must use this lubricant specifically)
NOTE: Each tube of P/N 68364292AA (NAFTA) or 68364292GA (Non-NAFTA), Molykote G-5008
Lubricant will service approximately 20 vehicles.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Clean area around all coils to assure no contaminants fall into plug wells. Remove the ignition
coils. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library
under: Service Info 08 - Electrical/8I - Ignition Control/Ignition Control/Coil, Ignition/Removal.
2. Remove boot from coil. Boot seat on coil bottom flange should be free of debris. If not, clean
surface with clean rag.
3. Use parts cleaner MOPAR (P/N 04318040AC) to prepare the surface of the coil. Use at air
temperature and allow to air dry. Apply label to coil side (1 label per part).
4. Ensure spring is inside each new boot.
5. Assemble the boot onto the coil, pushing and turning until fully seated.
NOTE: A light popping sound may occur.

6. Place a small, 360° bead of MOPART Molykote G-5008 lubricant along the inside opening of
the coil boot, approximately 1 to 2 mm (1/32 to 1/16 in.) from the chamfer edge, but not on the
chamfered surface.
CAUTION! Molykote G-5008 lubricant is the only grease that should be used for this repair.
The use of other grease may cause damage over time to the ignition coil boots.
7. Reinstall the ignition coils. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library under: Service Info 08 - Electrical/8I - Ignition Control/Ignition
Control/Coil, Ignition/Installation.
8. Clear faults and verify repair after all four ignition coil boots are replaced.
9. Start vehicle and let engine run for at least 60 seconds. If the engine runs rough and/or check
engine light illuminate, further diagnosis will be required.
