Technical background
DTC’s evident within the left light control unit (Diagnostic address D6) and/or the right light control unit (Diagnostic addr ess D7)
There are numerous static and intermittent DTC’s which may be evident within the previously mentioned control units, ensure a ll steps within the
Measure section are strictly adhered to

Measure
1) Remove the applicable front wheel arch liner – Refer to Repair manual Rep.Gr 66
2) Referring to the examples shown in Figures 1 and 2
Disconnect the applicable headlamp plugs (right and/or left hand side) - During disconnection look out for any abnormalities for example a plug
which is loose/broken or is easily disconnected

3) Check the condition of the headlamp plug and terminals
4) Check the condition of the headlamp assembly connection pins
5) Using the applicable Elsa pro wiring diagrams – Check the electrical integrity of the complete headlamp circuit

Should ANY concerns be found within steps 2,3,4 or 5 - The operative must rectify accordingly and once rectified – Carry out the remaining
instructions
•
Should NO concerns be identified – Carry out the remaining instructions
6) Reconnect the headlamp plugs NOTE: An audible click will be heard once the plug is refitted/connected correctly
7) Carry out a pull check to confirm correct fitment
8) Erase any related DTC’s using offboard Diagnostic Information System (ODIS)
•
Carry out a road test (maximum of 50 time units) to confirm the headlamps are fully functional
•
On return from road test – using offboard Diagnostic Information System (ODIS) recheck for any returning DTC’s
•
Should the DTC’s return replace the applicable headlamp – Refer to Repair manual Rep.gr 94 Lights, lamps, switches outside
9) Should the DTC’s not be evident and the headlamps are fully functional, no further action is required
