Service
Poly V-belt:
Note:
Poly V-belts on Audi vehicles are normally not sensitive to coolant as they are made of the same material as
coolant hoses. Therefore, there is no reason to replace a poly V-belt which came into contact with coolant and
was then dried again.
 In isolated cases, a coolant leak can result in dirt accumulating or a crust forming (due to pigments contained
in the coolant, for example) and scraping or damaging the poly V-belt.
 In such isolated cases, replacing the belt is reasonable. The Audi Technician is responsible for making such
decisions on a case-by-case basis.

into DOC-IT with the repair order. Photos should:
 Have a date stamp and VIN reference.
 Be taken in focus and with sufficient light.
 Show as much detail as possible.
Toothed belt for valve gear drive:
 A toothed belt which was briefly in
contact with coolant (Figure 1) and was
dried again it does not need to be
replaced.
Note:
If a toothed belt has been removed, always
check it for signs of wear or damage before
installing it again.
