Technical Service Information Bulletin Date: June 16, 2021 Bulletin Name: FDM-TSIB-026 Model: Oshkosh S-Series Units Affected: 2.0 Front Discharge Mixers 2.0 Mixer Pump PTO Shaft Purpose: This bulletin provides instruction for replacing the mixer pump PTO shaft, mixer pump input yoke, and mixer pump input yoke bearing U-bolts to the current production configuration. The new PTO shaft is larger with greaseable crosses and requires a new mixer pump input yoke and replacing the input yoke bearing U-bolts with bearing straps. Notice: • This bulletin should be read and understood in its entirety before performing this procedure. • All procedures outlined in the bulletin must be performed by skilled service personnel. Refer to the product service manual for descriptions of maintenance procedures. SAFETY NOTICE Perform your company’s Lockout/Tagout procedure. If your company does not have a Lockout/Tagout procedure, follow OSHA 1910.147 and 1910.146 Confined Space as appropriate. SAFETY NOTICE Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by your company. Tools and Equipment Required: Customer to supply: • Hand Tools • Torque Wrench (foot pounds) Parts Required: Item Part Number Description Qty. 1 A000V411 PSHAFT, 1410, HR, FLG 1 2 A000V412 END YOKE, 1410, HR, 1.50 TAPER 1 3 A000V413 BRG STRAP KIT, 1410, PSHAFT 1 Procedure: Lockout/Tagout 1. Place unit on a flat surface, block truck tires, and perform your company’s Lockout/Tagout procedure. If your company does not have a Lockout/Tagout procedure, follow OSHA 1910.147 and 1910.146 Confined Space as appropriate. 1 2. The vehicle’s BATTERY DISCONNECT switch is located on the left-hand side of the battery box. Use the battery disconnect switch when performing any maintenance so the vehicle cannot accidentally be started. a. Turn the battery disconnect switch (Figure A, Item 1) counterclockwise so the hole on the switch aligns with the hole in the bracket (Figure A, Item 2). b. Install the safety lockout device ring (Figure B, Item 1) through the holes on the battery disconnect switch and the bracket. c. Install a padlock (Figure B, Item 2) onto the safety lockout device ring, lock it, and put the key in your pocket. Remove the four 0.44-20 x 1.0 inch 12-point cap screws securing the PTO shaft flange to engine adapter, see Figure 1. 4. Remove the two U-bolts securing the PTO shaft assembly U-joint to the mixer pump input yoke, see Figure 1. 5. Remove the castle nut securing the input yoke to the mixer pump shaft. Use a 3 inch open end wrench to hold the yoke when removing the castle nut. 8. Remove the yoke and key from the mixer pump input shaft. The yoke will not be reused. Cotter Pin Castle Nut Figure 2 9. Install new yoke (A000V412) and key on mixer pump input shaft. 10. Reinstall castle nut removed in Step 7 on end of mixer pump input shaft. Final tighten castle nut to 130 ft lbs. Use a 3 inch open end wrench to hold the yoke when torqueing the castle nut. 11. Install new cotter pin, see Figure 3. If the cotter pin hole does not align with castle nut slots continue to tighten castle nut to align cotter pin hole and castle nut slot. Cotter Pin Castle Nut Figure 3 3 12. 4. Install PTO shaft assembly (A000V411) between engine adapter and mixer pump input yoke, see Figure 13. Install bearing strap kit (A000V413) to secure PTO shaft u-joint to mixer pump input yoke, see Figure 4. Final tighten strap screws to 32 ft. lbs. 14. Secure the PTO shaft to engine adapter with four 0.44-20 x 1.0 inch 12-point cap screws removed in Step 3.
