Oil loss from engine or visible traces of oil in the engine compartment.
Cause
To be determined in each possible situation
Remedy
Procedure for cause analysis:
1. Clean the engine if necessary.
2. Apply leak tracing powder.
3. Perform a test drive.
4. Locate the oil leak.
5. Perform the repair in accordance with the specific WIS document appropriate for the cause of the oil leak.
Note: For newer vehicles (less than a year in service and before the first service) create a PTSS case for Information
Only and attach illustrations identifying engine oil leak areas.
Note: In order to systematically perform the individual diagnosis steps for identifying the oil leak, including the cleaning
and contrasting agent to be used (A000 989 0359),

Note: When the cause of the leak has been found and the repair work is complete, it is essential to make sure that the
cost of the component causing the problem is invoiced with the correct damage code.
