Washer fluid dripping/leaking from the night vision camera jet nozzle
Technical background
Please note: The photographs shown within this TPI are not based on a specific vehicle type, the procedure to replace the
night vision non return valve is the same regardless of vehicle type
In the event the afore mentioned symptom is evident the operative should refer to the Measure section of this TPI to replace the non return valve
NOTE: For this particular procedure, calibration of the night vision camera system is not required unless an issue is identified
with the night vision camera system resulting in camera replacement
Or
The vehicle is visiting the workshop for repairs which require calibration/adjustment to any drive assist systems including the
night vision camera
TIP: For further details/clarification refer to Rep.Gr 44 regarding calibration/adjustment requirements for the driver assist
systems

Measure
WARNING
The operative must wear suitable gloves and eye protection before conducting the next steps
1) Referring to Rep.Gr 63 - Remove the front bumper lower inner grilles
2) Disconnect the non return valve from the night vision camera nozzle assembly (Figure 1)
NOTICE
Please note: Once the hose is disconnected washer fluid may leak, use a suitable bung to reduce fluid loss and dirt ingress
NOTE: Ensure a suitable container is used to collect any fluid, all fluid MUST be discarded as per all local environmental
guidelines and not reused

3) In the event the non return valve has been previously replaced using the onward process the clip shown in Figure 2 will require removal
before continuing from step 4
However
If the process has not been previously conducted the operative should continue from step 4

4) The use of a suitable plastic tool (Figure 3) can be used to attempt to loosen the hose away from the non return valve, the operative can also
twist the hose (with care) to release the non return valve from the hose
Hint: Water can also be used to help assist with the removal of the non return valve
TIP: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE A METAL TOOL TO CONDUCT THIS PROCEDURE AS DAMAGE CAN BE CAUSED TO

Once removed discard the non return valve ensuring all local environmental guidelines are followed
•
Check the overall condition of the hose
5) Install (x1) new clip onto the hose
6) Fully fit the new non return valve into the hose
HINT: If the non return valve is tight to fit, operative should use water to assist in fitment
CAUTION
Only water should be used to assist fitment of the non return valve
7) Using suitable pliers (for example WT 1000) secure the clip ensuring the clip is as shown once secured (Figure 4)

8) Reconnect the non return valve to the night vision camera washer nozzle assembly
HINT: Ensure the clip which is supplied with the non return valve is fitted and secured correctly
•
Conduct a pull check to confirm correct fitment
•
In the event the new clip is visible (model dependent) apply black paint to the clip
•
Confirm the night vision camera washer is working to specification
•
Confirm the nozzle is not dripping/leaking
9) Referring to Rep.Gr 63 - Refit the front bumper lower inner grilles
•
Top up the washer fluid reservoir with approved washer fluid
