Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service (ODIS
Service) – Installation Version 2.2.2 DVDs
We are pleased to announce the availability this week of ODIS Service Installation Version
2.2.2 DVDs.
This new installation version consolidates all application and brand updates released online up
to the DVD pressing date.
Consolidation of the recent data results in fast initial installations on brand new diagnostic
devices, and fast reinstallations on existing devices to resolve malfunctioning software. This
precludes the need to further download a large volume of online updates via your dealership
network after installation and enables the devices to be put into service sooner.
V2.2.2 - Important Notes:

Installation/reinstallation is performed from 2 DVDs.

While the contents installed with V2.2.2 are very recent, online updates released after
the version DVDs were pressed must still be downloaded and installed (a much smaller
volume).

Brand new VAS 6150C diagnostic laptop and VAS 6160A diagnostic tablet shipments
from today’s date are scheduled to include the V2.2.2 DVDs.

V2.2.2 is NOT an update version! Please DO NOT order and use the V2.2.2 DVDs on
existing devices that already have the latest online updates installed and are functioning
normally.
As a result of the above, V2.2.2 DVDs are not automatically shipped to every dealer. Order
these DVDs ONLY if you wish to reinstall the software on an existing device to resolve
malfunctioning software.
The 2-DVD set is scheduled to be available for ordering mid-week from:

When servicing the air conditioning of the e-Golf, The repair manual in Elsa
has special instructions and requires additional steps to be performed before
evacuating and filling the refrigerant circuit. Before evacuating the
refrigerant the GFF basic setting/ Filling Refrigerant Circuit under C5 Thermal
management (Figure 1) must be performed to open all of the system valves.
ODIS Service needs to be at version 2.15.1
WARNING: Failure to perform the GFF basic setting/ Filling Refrigerant Circuit
test plan will result in parts of the air conditioning system remaining fully
charged and under high pressure.
See Elsa notes and caution warnings for refrigerant circuit components under
Repair Manual/Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning/87 Air
Conditioning/Refrigerant Circuit.
Note: In some cases it will be necessary to de-energize the high voltage
system. Refer to the Elsa repair manual when servicing the components in the
high voltage air conditioning system.

Due to a production process issue at the sunroof glass supplier, some vehicles may
have been built with a panoramic sunroof glass panel with a steel frame that may
have been manufactured out of tolerance. As this manufacturing issue could cause
additional stress to the glass panel, the glass panel may be susceptible to breakage
if the vehicle experiences a sudden jolt, such as when hitting a large bump or
pothole in the road – especially in cold temperatures. Usage of certain de-icing
salts also has been identified as a contributing factor. If the glass panel were to
break when the vehicle is in motion, it could cause driver distraction, increasing the
risk of a crash.
