• Recall 94873 [USA]: This could lead to a smoldering of the pump or an engine compartment or vehicle fire.
  Bmw is recalling certain model year 2011 5-series, model year 2010-2011 5-series gran turismo, model year 2009-2011 7-series, model year 2010-2011 x5 sav, and model year 2008-2011 x6 sav vehicles equipped with 8- or 12-cylinder, turbocharged, engines because the circuit board for the electric auxiliary water pump can overheat.
  bmw will notify owners, and dealers will replace the auxiliary water pump free of charge. The safety recall began on december 19, 2011. Owners may contact bmw customer relations and services at 1-800-525-7417.

• Recall 73954 [USA]: The tire label does not conform to fmvss 110.
  Bmw is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 7-series and model year 2010 550i grand turismo vehicles for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 110 "tire selection and rims." these vehicle's are equipped with a tire pressure label indicating that the vehicle's seating capacity is five (5) passengers. The actual seating capacity is four (4) passengers. The tire size, tire pressure, and vehicle capacity weight on the label are correct.
  bmw will notify owners and authorized bmw dealers will replace the tire label free of charge. The safety recall began on april 16, 2010. Owners may contact bmw at 1-800-831-1117.

• Recall R/2011/147 [UK]: Short circuit may occur
  Due to the ingress of moisture it is possible that a short circuit can occur in the additional coolant pump for the exhaust turbocharger. The driver will be informed of the issue by a warning message on the display in the instrument panel. If not addressed it is possible for further heat build up in the pump which may cause the plug connection and housing to melt and in extreme cases a localised fire in the engine compartment or vehicle.

• Recall R/2014/068 [UK]: Engine emergency mode may be activated during driving
  The screws retaining the variable camshaft timing (vanos) housing may loosen and under certain circumstances the heads may break off. This can lead to the vanos leaking oil internally and adversely affect the valve timing adjustment. If found to deviating from targeted data the engine emergency mode will be activated. This will be indicated by a distinct change in engine running. The orange engine management warning lamp and a check message; on vehicles with n51/n52 engines this will appear at ignition recycle on n55 engine it will display immediately.

  On certain vehicles, the auxiliary water pump (which cools the turbocharger after the engine is turned off) can overheat and fail. This could result in a vehicle fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the auxiliary water pump. • Recall 2016566 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  On certain vehicles, a sensor cluster unit (scu) having incorrect programming may have been installed in error by dealers during servicing. As the scu helps determine if the driver and/or passenger airbags, seat belt pretensioners and active head restraints should be deployed during a crash, incorrect programming could result in an inadequate activation of one or more of these restraint systems in a crash. This could increase the risk of injury to occupants. Correction: dealers will replace the scu. Note: in the interim, owners are advised to stop operating their vehicle until the defect has been repaired.

Transmission malfunction while driving vehicle on highway - vehicle was immobilized. Transmission had to be replaced.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 bmw 750. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, after making a right the she lost control of the vehicle and was unable to stop it. The vehicle can to a complete stop independently. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and the current mileage was 20,000. The vin was not available.
