• Recall 18241 [USA]: This condition could result in a fracture of the wheel studs causing the wheel to separate from the vehicle.
  The wheel lug nuts were not tightened to the proper specification during assembly.

• Recall 19301 [USA]: Consequence of non-compliance: it may be possible to shift from the "park" position with the ignition key removed increasing the risk of a vehicle accident resulting from the unintended movement of a parked vehicle.
  These vehicles were produced with an improperly adjusted transmission shift control linkage. This does not meet with the requirements of fmvss no. 114, "theft protection."

• Recall 18628 [USA]: Consequence of non-compliance: in the event of a failure of the trottle return spring, if there is excessive friction in the pedal assembly, the engine speed may not return to idle increasing the potential for a vehicle crash.
  These vehicles fail to conform to fmvss no. 124, "accelerator control systems." at low temperatures, excessive friction can occur in the accelerator pedal assembly.

• Recall 1996025 [Canada]: Suspension
  Note: includes caprice police sedans, taxi cabs and special service wagons; fleetwood hearse and limousine. The lower control arm ball joint attachment may be loose. This condition can cause the lower control arm ball joint to loosen, fatigue and separate from the front suspension knuckle. If separation were to occur with the vehicle in motion, loss of vehicle control could occur, which could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: front lower control arm ball joint attachment nuts will be inspected for proper torque. If the ball joint has loosened from the knuckle, both the ball joint and knuckle will be replaced.

• Recall 1995074 [Canada]: Engine
  Certain vehicles do not comply with cmvss 124 - accelerator control systems. At low temperatures there may be excessive movement friction in the accelerator pedal assembly. In the event of a failure of a throttle return spring the engine speed may not decrease to the level anticipated by the driver when the foot is lifted from the accelerator pedal. Loss of accelerator control could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning. Correction: accelerator pedal assembly will be replaced.

• Recall 1995211 [Canada]: Structure
  These vehicles do not comply with c.M.V.S.S. 102 - transmission shift control sequence. A misadjusted transmission shift control linkage may allow the transmission to be shifted out of the "p"(park) position with the ignition key removed. In the event of this condition occurring, the vehicle may roll from its parked position and cause potential damage and/or injury. Correction: shift control linkage system will be adjusted.

• Rear wheel separation investigation as of 19960531

  Gm notified odi that they are conducting a recall to retorque the wheel lug nuts on vehicles built between august and september of 1995.It is anticipated that most vehicles will require the wheel lug nuts to be retorqued to 135 n.M(100 lb. Ft.).Customers who have had all four of their tires and wheels rotated should have properly torqued lug nuts.However, gm is offering customers who have had their tires and wheels rotated the option of returning to their dealer for this repair or completing and returning an owner reply card included with their recall notice.This engineering analysis is closed.

Tl* the contact owns a 1995 buick roadmaster. The contact stated that the horn would sound independently. The failure was sporadic but progressed into a continual failure. The malfunction recurred whether the vehicle was in operation or stationary the fuse for the horn was disengaged. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 192,800.

Windshield wipers only work on high and they cut off on me one day in the rain while driving on the highway after a heavy downpour just started out of nowhere which was very scary and then again around town on other rainy days. Also when i drive and first go to accelerate, sometimes it feels as if the car is not fully in drive although it is and i have to press way down on the gas then brake then take off again to make it jump into gear all the way. When idling its high and low sounding as well, so i just want to know if any of this is covered under any recall? *tr

Cars front suspension began popping and moaning. Car can not make tight turns without sounding like the front end is going to break into pieces. I took the car to local gm dealership(j.P. Harvey) after getting the recall information on ntsb website. The parts department said they tightened the hub bolts. However, since the car was so old refused to check ball joint or any other of the recalled parts. I was given this car by my mother who sustained an accident back in 2004 when the right side failed and sent her into a deep ditch. I paid a private dealer $589.00 to replace all the left side steering linkage, ball joint etc. At that time i did not know about this recall. Now it is the right side that is degenerating. This form is late as i was diagnosed with a brain tumor in april 2010 and had to have surgery in october 2010. Only now able to complete tasks on computer and finish this complaint form.

Vehicle is displaying symptoms of recall campaign id 96v019000 but is not a covered vin. I would request the nhtsa look into the extension of this recall to include at least [xxx] and possibly all 1995 model year b-body vehicles. I was backing my 95 buick roadmaster station wagon from a parking lot at a retirement center when i depressed the brake to allow me to shift from park to reverse, the car suddenly accelerated and shot back across the parking lot, nearly a hundred feet before i was able to turn the wheel and veer it away from a crowded building and then turn off the ignition key to stop the motor. I had my foot on the brake the entire time and was not near the accelerator pedal. *jb

While driving in inclement weather windshield wipers came on and went off on their own. Subsequently, windshield wipers jumped and skipped off the windshield. This was an intermittent problem, and the dealer was aware of the problem. *ak

When the consumer attempted to use the horn it did not work. *ak the horn wiring was repaired. *jb

The horn button wore out, which caused the horn to blare intermittently while driving. The consumer stated the horn had completely failed. *jb *ts *jb

Vehicle took off full throttle while in drive going aproximately 60mph. Consumer was stomping on brake pedal trying to stop and brakes were pulsating, causing abs to jam. Consumer turned key to shut vehicle off. Cruise control cable pulled throttle cable back.*ak consumer stated he had no control of vehicle and injured his foot.*jb

While driving vehicle's fuel pump stopped working due to an electrical short. Dealer notified. Please provide additional information. Ts...*ak

Wires on fuel pump within fuel tank showed signs of severe shortages which could have led to a fire. Dealer notifed. Part was available for analysis. Consumer stated even though the gas tank was full, the gas needle would drop to zero, consumer states the entire fuel sensor and pump was replaced.*jb

Both rear passengers' doors are not shutting and locking properly, manufacturer was notified. *ak consumer states she can see a gap that is visible when trying to shut the door, she also hears a noise as if the door is not shutting properly. *tt

96 v 018 002/lower control arm: vehicle was taken to a goodyear independent repair shop and consumer was told of recall on vehicle. Dealer/ manufacturer were notified and informed consumer that this vehicle was not covered under recall due to vin. *ak *slc

When slowing down to make a turn driver heard a noise. Driver drove a couple of miles afterwards, and vehicle began to steer to right on its own. Owner became concerned and looked under vehicle, and noticed bolt on a frame was totally missing. Problem was reported to dealership. Owner was referred to gmc division. Problem was corrected by an alignment shop. *ak the customer state that upper "a" frame fastners and shim pack should be redesigned. *yh

Complete tread separation without loosing air, steel belts visible.( dot number: tire size: p225-75r15 )

Car has memory seat on driver's side. Pushed memory and car seat went all the way up and all the way into the steering wheel trapping me. Unable to move or drive the car. Seat did not stop even when i pushed all the buttons on the car door panel. This problem was fixed in 9/97. Memory would not hold. Uld not holdi pushed all theway. *ak

Ongoing / intermittent problem with engine stalling. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that the problem was due to a defect in the remote jump starting terminal, and repairs would be done at consumer cost. *ak

Since purhase in 1995 vehicle pulled to the right. Dealer could not find problem. After the wheel bearings failed and replaced the right pull problem has been fixed. Suspect faulty wheel bearing since purchase. *ak

A clip disconnected from fuel line, causing a fuel leakage. Consumer lost half tank of gas, and the dealer can't determine the cause of the problem. *ak

Vehicle was left unattended in park gear and running, gear jumped out of park and into reverse resulting in collision with fence and damage to vehicle. *mjs

Power windows failed;plastic guide is not strong enough for the job.You cannot replace just the guides as buickhas them moulded to the regulater arm.You have to replace the whole thing even though there is nothing wrong with the regulater.It cost 245.00 for this.I had one repaired and the mechnic said it was a design flaw.The passenger window was the first to go .Then the drivers side rear window broke and then the drivers window.You can count on two hands how many times the passenger window was opened and on one hand how many times the rear window was opened at 245.00 per window just for the part to install it is another 100.00so you are talking about 350 per window see if you have any complaints like this or mabe since they don't make the roadmaster any more they used defective parts. Shoulder belt on the passenger's side is hanging out of the retractor. The dealer and manufacturer are aware of the problem. The problem has not been corrected. This is the second time for the same problem. *ak

Fuel pump failure.

Vehicle stalls out intermittently, just stops. *ak

Coolant leaks, water pump keeps going out which ruins the distributor. Had water pump replaced 3 times. Dealer contacted. Cause unknown.*ak consumer states that vehicle drifts to right, coolant leak near thermostat and replaced coolant pump refill, brakes squeal when turning, both rear wheel cylinders were leaking and were replaced, and there is a shudder on brake when applying, also front brakes were replaced, wheel bearings repacked and needs rear drums resurfaced. *yd

The consumer was involved in a minor rear end collision and the rear window shattered, causing injuries to the rear passenger. *ak
