  On certain vehicles, the wheel speed sensor housing uses an o-ring seal to prevent leakage to or from the wheel bearing. If assembled improperly, the o-ring may not seal properly allowing water to enter the wheel bearing and eventually cause damage to the bearing, especially in areas where use of road salt is prevalent. If the driver continues to drive with this condition it is possible for the wheel bearing to become loose, which could cause the bearing to fail.

  Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of cmvss 120. The tire and loading information label was printed with incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr) and gross axle weight rating (gawr) data. The information printed on the affected labels is that for the civic lx model, which weighs less than the civic ex model. The incorrect labels indicate a gvwr of 1665 kg, front gawr of 880 kg and rear gawr of 785 kg. The labels should instead indicate a gvwr of 1695 kg, front gawr of 895 kg and rear gawr of 800 kg. Since this does not pose any safety risk, no corrective action is required.

  On certain civic, csx and csx type s vehicles, an abs wheel speed sensor o-ring seal may allow water to enter the rear wheel bearing and eventually cause damage to the bearing, especially in areas where use of road salt is prevalent. In time, the wheel bearing could become loose, which could cause the bearing to overheat. This could cause a wheel to separate from the vehicle, potentially resulting in a vehicle crash with injury or death.   On certain vehicles, excessive amounts of silicon grease was applied to the telescoping mechanism of the steering column during vehicle assembly. As a result, oil can separate from the grease, which can form droplets that may fall onto the brake light switch. This can cause the brake light to fail, it may not be possible to shift the transmission from the park position and/or the stop lamps may fail to illuminate, leading to a failure to alert a following vehicle of the driver's intent to stop, potentially resulting in a crash. Correction: dealers will replace the brake light switch and connector housing, and install a cover to prevent oil from damaging the switch.

Front and rear bumper clips fixed several times-4 times spending my own money but always a problem.

On october 28, 2020, i was driving on a city street to work, when i heard a loud pop and saw a bright flash. All the dash lights came come then after a second everything shut off. The car stopped, but still rolling i pulled into a parking lot. I tried to open the door, but i couldn't. The locks would not move, on either door. Not manually. I was trapped inside. Thank goodness the car didn't start a fire, because i would not be able to get out. Not by opening the doors manually. The metal pole that holds the hood up came loose somehow and hit the battery, which made a short and shut everything down. Regardless, the car should unlock manually if the power locks don't work. I couldn't unlock from inside by pulling the handle or the locks would not move/open.

Honda has produced faulty engine blocks on civic models from 2006-2009 that tend to crack. This is a safety issue as it can cause the car to stall on a highway and lead to an accident. Honda extended their warranty from 7 to 10 years instead of issuing a recall even though they know they sold a faulty product. On tuesday, oct 27th 2020, driving home from work the car temperature gauge maxed out and shaking was felt as if the car was going to stall. Luckily, this occurred coming off the highway and while driving on city streets and near my residence and not while on the highway where the car could have stalled and caused a dangerous situation. The vehicle was taken to honda service center the following day for a diagnostic check and it was determined that the engine block had cracked. The engine cracking was the reason the cars warranty was extended to 10 years but the extension of the warranty to my vehicle has expired. Honda has quoted me $6,395.40 to replace a known faulty engine block. I believe a faulty engine block creates an unsafe condition to all drivers and should be replaced by honda before someone gets hurt.
