• Recall 151227 [USA]: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. an underinflated air bag cushion may not properly protect the occupant. these scenarios increase the risk of serious injury or death.
  Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2001-2002 acura 3.2cl, 2000-2003 acura 3.5rl, 2000-2001 acura 3.2tl, honda cr-v and honda odyssey, 2001-2002 acura mdx and 2000 accord coupe, accord sedan, civic coupe, and civic sedan vehicles. These vehicles may have received a replacement driver frontal air bag module as part of a vehicle repair. Due to a manufacturing issue, the replacement nadi inflator may absorb moisture, causing the inflator to rupture or the air bag cushion to underinflate.
  honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bags in the vehicles, replacing the driver frontal air bag inflator with an inflator of a different design, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began october 1, 2020. Owners may contact american honda's customer support & campaign center at 1-888-234-2138.

  The subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger airbag inflators which could have been assembled with improperly manufactured propellant wafers. Improperly manufactured propellant wafers could cause the inflator to rupture and the front passenger airbag to deploy abnormally in a crash. This could result in increased risk of injury to the occupant or in a thermal issue in the interior compartment which may lead to fire.

• Recall 2020015 [Canada]: Airbag
  Issue: on certain vehicles, exposure to moisture over time could cause the driver-front airbag not to inflate properly in a crash. In some cases, this could cause an airbag not to fully inflate, while in others it could cause it to deploy with more force than normal. It could also cause the inflator to rupture. If the airbag inflator ruptures, small pieces of metal could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag and prevent its proper function. Note: this recall is for airbag inflators that may have been installed when the vehicle had the steering wheel airbag replaced. Safety risk: in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the driver-front airbag may not inflate properly or the inflator could rupture. This could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail. There may be a significant delay before replacement parts are available. The company will send you a second letter once replacement parts are available and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the driver-front airbag inflator. If the inflator requires replacement, a newly design part will be installed.

I looked up my vin i'd to see it had a air bag recall. I then call my local honda dealer to see when i could take vehicle in for the recall. They stated bring it ant time. I also received a 'safety recall notice' from honda. On 10/27/2020 i took the vehicle to have the air bag replaced. As it turn out on the paper work when contacted to pick up the vehicle it stated 'air bag inspection complete'. I later called the dealer to find out that it was not replaced but only inspected. This was done by honda spreen. Is inspection only correct or replacement correct. Should the recall have replaced the actual device. Does this recall cover both driver and passenger side air bag on this vehicle?

Honda issued a recall in march 2020 for repair of a airbag inflator. This recall stated that it was dangerous to drive my car and that the problem with the airbag could result in fatality to me or my passengers. It is now july 4, 2020 and there are still not parts available to fix the problem so i cannot make an appointment to have it fixed. I called honda customer service on june 29, 2020 and was told that i would need to just wait. It says on the honda website that a rental car will be provided if parts are temporarily not available to fix a problem but they refused to do that. I think it is unacceptable that it has been 4 months since a problem was recognized, no parts are available to fix the problem, and honda will not provide a rental car even though they state that using my car could result in death.
